It's Saturday!!

Hi blogging buddies!

I love Saturdays, don't you? I got the lawn all mowed yesterday, Laundry done last night, house is fairly clean, hubby went golfing, both boys are out running around and I don't have to work. Ahhh. . . . the joys of having the whole house to myself! Love it!

So this will be a short post. Just a quick card I made with another new stamp. (New to me, that is.) I only used the flower from the Two Birds (3 images) Cling set. I love this pretty image and it's so fun to color with Copics. It's hard to tell in the photo, but I cut out the three roses and paper pieced them using dimensional adhesive. I knew I wanted to place the panel with the flowers onto a dark brown card but I also wanted to place some layers on one side. The dark pink layer is part of a die cut, made from a Hero Hues punch colored layering paper. The light brown piece is actually from a kraft colored envelope that had a spot on it.

The sentiment is from another one of my new stamp sets called Big Hugs. And if you look closely, there is a heart engraved into the middle of the button.

Thanks so much for your visit. I so appreciate you stopping by and leaving comments! They make my day! Hope you all get to do something you love today!

Lots of Paper Piecing

Happy Wednesday!

I decided it would be fun to use some new stamps, along with an older set I've had for quite awhile. I also wanted to do another scene card, which I think is so fun! You get to stamp, color and cut. . . all things I love to do. I don't paper piece too often, so I decided to do that too, and I had a blast putting this one together! Made me smile the whole way through!

The house, Kite, cloud and flower pot are from the Simple Things set and the grass and basket of flowers are from Sending Smiles. The older set I used is called Sky's the Limit. It's one of the very first stamp sets I ever bought and the sun, bird and sentiment are from that set. This particular sentiment is one of my all time favorites and I thought it went well with my bright, cheerful scene. If you click on the picture, you can get a better look of the dimension from all the paper piecing and pop dots used. I even paper pieced the grass.

One more thing. I feel really stupid. I mistakenly clicked "sign off" in Flickr last night and tried to sign back in using the password I use for everything. It kept telling me it was wrong, so I tried other ones and it finally locked me out of my account for 24 hours! I cannot even try to get back in until tonight at 9:00 pm. I feel really stupid, I'm frustrated and in total withdrawal! I hate not being able to comment on your cards or in discussion threads and I just wanted to let you know that's why you won't see my comments today. I'll try and catch up the minute I get back up and running!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you all have a fabulous day! :)

Another Monday. . . . .

. . . Not my favorite day of the week but I'm getting closer and closer to a 10 day vacation. It starts on August 15 and I can't wait! Not going anywhere, just staying home to enjoy some of the last days of summer. Hate to see it end! When you live in Minnesota, you have to revel in the warm weather days because before ya know it, you're shoveling snow again, which is my LEAST favorite thing to do! Geez, I sound kinda crabby today, don't I? Sorry about that! I am now putting a smile back on my face! :) <----- see?

I do have a card to show you today. I used the new Artists Butterfly again. This time I wanted to use bright, bold colors, so I colored it with Copics. I love pink and teal together!

For the background, I stamped Old Letter Writing and the Graph Background using a teal colored ink from ColorBox. I'm loving the Hero Hues Pearls! You can always find ones that go so well with whatever color you're using!

One more thing. My Hero Hostess, sister, Jenny is having a little give away on her blog. Click here for your chance to win a Hero Arts stamp set! Woo, hoo! Gotta love that! Thanks, Jenny!

I hope everyone has a lovely day!
