90-Minute Scramble and Another Card Too

Happy Saturday everyone!

There was a 90-Minute scramble over in the Hero Arts Flickr group today. Greta was the host and she came up with such a fun theme! She wanted us to use our least favorite color. I looked through my photostream and realized that I rarely use yellow as a focal color on my cards, so that was my choice and here is my card.

You can take a look and everyone's cards here.

I also made another card using the beautiful Gerbera Daisy image from Flourishes. I colored it with Copics and added some script here and there with the La Letter stamp from Hero Arts. I then added it to the card base which was embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts, Everyday Sayings, clear set.

We had a storm pass through today. It looked very scary on radar and there were tornadoes nearby but we just had some heavy rain and hail, thank goodness! It always scares me and I'm so relieved it wasn't worse! With all the horrible weather lately, I'm very grateful!

Hope all my U.S. friends are having a wonderful, Memorial Day weekend! We've been enjoying some friends who are staying with us. . .love when they visit!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

It's Been Awhile. . .

Wow, it sure has been awhile since I posted here on my blog! Just busy with life, I guess.

We've had some scary weather this past weekend. Tons of rain, storms and a tornado. My city was not in its path but not far from here, in North Minneapolis, there are thousands of trees down and hundreds of homes damaged. It gets a bit frightening when it hits so close to home!

With all the rain and not very warm temps, there is still not much blooming here yet. I haven't been able to plant any flowers or veggies yet either and am getting very anxious to do that! I did head outside the other day to take some pictures of my yard to share with you. Again, not much yet but I do ADORE my Crab Apple tree. . .gets prettier every year! Check it:

I love the way it looks against the beautiful blue sky!

For this shot, I just stuck my face right in there. . .smells heavenly!

I love the way the buds are pink before blooming into white!

I also get very excited every year for my Peonies to bloom! Look how tall they are already! As you can see, I haven't planted anything below it yet. Oh, look! I just noticed you can see me in the window reflection. . .hee, hee. :)

Here is my light pink one. . .ready to burst open. . .can't wait!

This one is a darker pink and smells amazing!

One more thing before I go. Here in Minnesota, the winters can be so long, so cold and so full of snow that when spring comes, with its warmer temps and sunny skies, I tend to really appreciate the little things. One of my favorite, little things is watching everything get green again and the way that green looks in contrast to the bright blue of the sky! Love these colors!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope your week is off to a great start! :)
