90-Minute Scramble

Hi there!

Today, over in the Hero Arts Flickr group, Martha hosted the 19th, 90-Minute scramble. It was one of the best yet with so many entries and an awesome theme! She asked us to make a card that had at least one side without a straight edge. But that's not all. Oh, no. . . .she also wanted us to use all of our favorites. Our favorite Hero Arts stamp(s) our favorite colors, our favorite embellishments and our favorite technique! I must say, it was a blast grabbing all my favorite things and creating at a feverish pace!

As most of you will guess, I chose pink and green. I used two of my fave stamps from Hero Arts, the Hydrangea and La Letter. I remember loving the Background Layered Technique that Shari showed us on the Hero Arts blog back in May and knew I wanted to use that too. I love Hero Arts pearls, so that was an easy choice for my embellies. The only thing I had to decide on was an edge. I cut the Hydrangea so that a small portion of it would be hanging off the edge.

If you've never participated in a 90-Minute Scramble, you must give it a try! They are so fun and really get your juices flowing! Here is the master schedule. They usually have one, every two weeks.

Thanks for coming by and Happy weekend! :)

Another Card for Camp, Week 2

Hi there!

A really quick post today with an equally quick (and simple) card. The Hero Arts Friend Definition is stamped on the card base. I used the colors for Card Camp, week 2, die cut some felt, punched out some flowers and added an SRM sticker for the sentiment. Easy Peasy!

I must thank Virginia for the sticker! She sent me quite a few and they are so perfect for adding a sentiment onto felt! Thanks again, V!

Computer Problems and a Card

Hey there and Happy Thursday!

I have not been online for the past two days because of my ancient computer. It is actually 13 years old, believe it or not! It went bonkers on me and my son has been working on it for two days. He finally got it up and running again last night. What a relief! It's unbelievable how much I miss it all when I can't be online! Can you say addiction? :) One good thing is that I think I've finally convinced hubby that we need to buy a new one. Yay! Hopefully we will be doing just that by this weekend!

I did get a bit of playtime in last night and made a card with this weeks Summer Card Camp colors. It's a beautiful, summer mix! Take a look. . .

A very simple design using the Hero Arts Large Blossom cling stamp.

I watercolored the flowers with different inks. Some Hero Hues, some distress inks and also one from Stampin'Up!

I haven't had a whole lot of time to play lately, so I'm keeping my card designs very simple. And I plan on getting back to commenting on all my favorite blogs and on Flickr just as soon as I can. . . missing it, and all of you, lots!

Thank you so much for dropping by today! I really appreciate it! :)

Quick Post

Hi all,

I wanted to do a quick post today and let you know that I've been really busy lately, working more hours and lots of family stuff going on too. I haven't been able to find enough time to comment on your blogs or Flickr photostreams, and I hate when that happens! I LOVE looking through all the cards and blogs and it really bothers me when I'm not able to do that. So this is an apology and a promise to get back to it all, as soon as I can!

Before things got crazy, I was able to finish a very simple card for the July CCC.
I used the sketch and just flipped it around.

I've also looked at the first two posts for week 2 of Card Camp and have been trying to come up with some cards. I hope to post those soon! Really love the colors this week and Jennifer's video today was so fun, with a new "accidental" technique. Can't wait to try it out!

Thanks for stopping by!
