Just Starting to Snow. . .

Just Starting to Snow. . . by bdengler4 (Barb)

. . . .only on this card, thank goodness.

I love the Tree Trunks stamp and hadn't played with it for awhile. The background is shaded with distress inks, then I silver embossed the Life of the Party Stars. I white embossed the trees and cut them out to add to the panel.

I didn't like the way the dots from the stamp looked in my sky, so I added white enamel accents on top of them and in a few more spots, here and there, to make it look like it was just starting to snow. Hope it's a long time before that actually happens!

I used two birds from the Antique Engravings set, colored and cut out. The sentiment is from the Merry Christmas Trees, clear set.

Thanks so much for your visit! I really appreciate it! :)

Timeless Tuesday #131

Over on the Flourishes blog, they gave us a recipe to use for this week's Timeless Tuesday challenge. We're to use the color pink, one button, ribbon and lace. I looked at all the examples from the blog team members and they are all gorgeous! Such talent over there! This is my first time entering a card in this challenge and here is what I came up with.

I colored the pretty Primrose stamp from Flourishes with Copics, after stamping it onto an oval diecut that was distressed with Antique Linen distress ink. I then over-stamped with Hero Arts La Letter in Vintage Photo ink. Both patterned papers are from a 6x6 Authentique paper pad called, Splendid, which was a gift from my sweet friend, Tiffany. I layered the Hero Arts Lace on top of a vivid pink, satin ribbon. The sentiment is also from Flourishes and I added a sweet, heart-shaped button to finish the recipe.

I hope you're having a good week! Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

All White with. . . . .

I've been admiring all the beautiful cards posted for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and decided I wanted to join in the fun! They would like us to make an all white card with a colored image.

I just happen to have this cute snowman stamp still on my desk from my wintery scene card, so I inked him up and colored him in, cutting him out and adding him to my small, Swiss Dots embossed panel. I then layered that onto my white card which is embossed with the Tim Holtz snowflake embossing folder. My sister's birthday falls during the winter months, so I think I'll be saving this card for her.

I really like how a brightly colored image looks on an all white card, so I just HAD TO make another one! This time I used a Hero Arts flower.

I had fun adding black enamel accents to all the dots on this one!

I hope everyone's week is off to a good start! I have four more days of work this week, then nine, glorious days off! Hope to get lots of card making done!

Thanks for stopping by today! :)
