Inspired By Patterned Paper

I don't normally post on my blog this often, but I can't seem to stop making cards these past few days, and wanted to share them! It must be because my vacation ends on Tuesday, and I know I won't have as much time to create.

I picked up some new goodies recently and one item was a 6x6 paper pad from Bo Bunny called, Gabrielle Collection. I was inspired by the pretty color combination of peaches, pools and browns, and created three cards with these colors in mind.

This first one uses a striped paper that already had the swirls and little banner, which was perfect for my sentiment. The butterfly was cut using the Vivienne Butterfly die cut from Memory Box - (just the negative space here.) I stamped Hero Arts' Old Letter writing behind the butterfly, before adhering the striped panel to the card.

For the next card, I used the butterfly die cut from the striped paper, adhered it onto a piece of textured, white cardstock and cut around it. I LOVE this butterfly die!

The clear embossed vines are from another new stamp I bought called, Floral Vine Background from Hero Arts. The smaller butterflies were punched from the same paper pad, and the card base was cut from Designer papers, also from Hero Arts. I must say, these designer papers are fabulous! So nice and thick - perfect for the base of a card!

My last card uses the same color combo (without the brown.) Again, the card base is from a Hero Arts designer paper, and so is the lighter, pool colored strip. I stamped the Classic Tea Flower after inking it with Distress Markers. Then I added a bit more shading with a couple of Copic Markers.

I love when Rosemary uses double scallops like this card here! Thanks for the inspiration, Rosie!

Sorry for the long post. I usually like to only share one card per post, but since these three cards have similar colors, I thought I should show them all at once.

Thanks for your visit - hope you're enjoying the weekend! :)

It's All About Flowers!

Hi and happy Friday!

I have a card to share with you today for the newest Simon Says Stamp challenge at Lily Pad Cards. This time it is all about flowers!

All the patterned paper is from the "This & That," 6x6 pad from Echo Park - Yum! The flowers are from Hero Arts' "3 Dotted Flowers" cling set. I white embossed them and colored them with Tombow Markers. The sentiment is also Hero Arts, from the "Say It All" clear set.

Now, I know you all love flowers, so head on over to the Lily Pad Cards blog and join in! When you read about the details, you will also see the amazing cards created by the rest of the design team!

I don't work until Tuesday, and the weather this weekend is suppose to be sunny and close to 70 degrees - perfect! I am planning on enjoying it to the fullest!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you enjoy your weekend too! :)

An Inspired Card

Hi there!

Last week, and through this past weekend, I was really struggling with my mojo. It's no big deal, it happens to me more often than I'd like, I'm even sort of getting used to it, but this time there was a BIG problem! Ya see, I have lots of DT cards to create for some really fun, upcoming Lily Pad Cards challenges, and I was starting to panic!

So, yesterday I sat at the computer and looked through some of my favorite photostreams of people who inspire me. I always love looking at Lin's cards on her blog here and her Flickr photostream here. She has a wonderful, happy style, and at this time of year, when spring is approaching, she makes the most beautiful flower cards!

So, I got right to work, channeling my "inner Lin," and here's what I came up with.

I used some fun, bright Echo Park patterned paper and a Hero Arts flower set. I had so much fun creating this card!

I want to thank Lin for not only inspiring me, but for helping to get my creative juices flowing again! I've made five other cards today, and I wish I could show them all to you, but not yet. Three of them are for the challenges mentioned above, and the other two are for some really fun and exciting things coming soon - can't wait to share them with you, so stay tuned! :)

Okay, it's very late so I'm heading to bed. At least I don't have to work tomorrow. I'm still on vacation and loving every minute of it!

Thanks for the visit! Hope you're having a fun and creative week! :)
