Art Journaling Page #4

Hi there!

I hope you're having a fun and crafty weekend! I finished another page in my art journal tonight and wanted to share it with you. As always, I loved creating it! I used lots of Hero Arts butterflies from one of their Framelits, Stamp and Die sets.

After covering the double page with a coat of Gesso, I added lots of Distress Paints, then spritzed with water and let the colors drip and run together. After the ink was dry, I used my finger with some Gesso and swished it across the colors in different areas of the page - love this effect!

I then used Tim Holtz's, Dot Fade Stencil here and there with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. I die cut the leaves, flowers and butterflies, colored them with Gelatos, then added them to the page using Matte Medium. The words are just from a sheet of letter stickers I had in my stash from my scrapbooking days. Love using up older products!

I splattered some black ink, mixed with water, as a final step, and smeared some of the splatter dots for a swishy effect - not sure I like it. . . .but I do love the way the whole page turned out!

Thanks for stopping by - enjoy the rest of your weekend! :)
