A card for the January Card Chain Challenge

Hi there!

Just a quick post today sharing a card I created for Deborah's Card Chain Challenge. We could choose to use her sketch, color combo, or one of three themes. I chose the friendship theme. I heard from Helen the other day that she has received my card, so I'm able to share it now.

I used the Clustered Leaves Die from Simon Says Stamp, cutting a couple of them and adding color with Distress Inks and Copics.

I added a bit of shimmer with my Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.

Here's a close-up.

If you haven't ever joined in one of Deborah's Card Chain Challenges, you should! It's really fun to give and receive a card form somewhere else in the world! Her February CCC is ready, and you can sign up here.

Thanks for the visit! Hope you're having a fun and crafty weekend! ♥

Stenciled Day 3

Hi everyone!

I loved class earlier today! They encouraged us to play with embossing paste, which I really enjoy doing! I had to go to work shortly after I read the lessons and watched the amazing videos, but came home and got right to work with my homework.

I hope you all know how talented Debby Hughes is. If you don't, you need to visit her blog because it will not only inspire you, it will totally blow you away! She has such a beautiful style and I was, once again, drawn to one of her cards in class today.

Here's my take on her card and lesson:

I sprayed my watercolor panel (mostly in the lower left corner) with Mister Huey's Color Mist in Dewey.

I used a stencil from Memory Box called Texture Mesh with some Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste. The die-cut leaves are from Sizzix and the die-cut butterfly is also from Memory Box - it's their Vivienne Butterfly Die.

I added a couple of matching enamel dots and white pearls, along with a Hero Arts sentiment.

Can't wait for our 4th and final lesson tomorrow - it's such an awesome class!

Thanks so much for stopping by! ♥
