More SSS New Release Cards!

If you're looking for the Simon Says Stamp, New Release blog hop, click here.

Hi there!

I have a couple more cards to share with you today, using some goodies from Simon Says Stamp's, "This is the Life" new release! Today's cards are definitely in the "cute" category. I used the, Best Fishes clear stamp set and the matching dies, called Fish and Bowl. It is such a fun set!

The background was created with watercolors and all the fish, the sentiment and seaweed are stamps from the set. I colored the larger fish with Copic Markers and used the matching dies to cut them out. I stamped the inside of the card with the rest of the sentiment, which says, ". . .come true." Oh! And those Tiny Flower Sequins? Those are also from Simon Says stamp - love!

For my next card, I used the same set but added the die-cut fish bowl and treasure chest to create a shaker card.

This one was totally inspired by Stephanie Klauck - love her talent!
Here's a close-up:

Copics were used again for the coloring on the fish and treasure chest A soft layer of Tumbled Glass Distress Ink was used for the water inside the bowl. The bubbly background was created using Cuttlebug's, Tiny Bubbles embossing folder.

If you haven't seen the whole collection from "This is the Life" new release, click here and take a look! It's fabulous with something for everyone to love!

That's it for me today - I'll be back soon with a couple more cards from the release.

Thanks for the visit - hope your Saturday is filled with creativity! ♥

Simon Says Stamp New Release Blog Hop!

Hi there!

Welcome to another stop on the Simon Says Stamp, This Is The Life, new release blog hop! If you've been following along, you should have just come from the fabulous, Sandy Allnock's blog. Isn't she amazing?!

If you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop, scoot on over to the Simon Says Stamp blog where you'll find a full list of the blogs.

If this is your first time stopping by my blog, welcome! I'm so glad you're here and hope you enjoy your visit.

I was really excited and felt so honored to receive an invitation from Simon Says Stamp to be a part of this fun day. They sent me some awesome goodies and I've been having a blast playing with it all! Thank you to Heidi and to everyone at SSS!

Before I share my cards, I want to mention that Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a prize pack at each stop along the hop, so be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win! The giveaways for the prize packs will close at 6:00pm EST on Thursday July 17, 2014. Here's what they're giving away.

How awesome is that?! If you've never used their cardstock and/or inks, you will LOVE them!

Okay, so for today's post, I'm showcasing another new Parade Die called, Ice Cream Cone Parade. It is so cute! I have three cards using this die. The first one is fairly simple, using the inlaid die-cutting technique and Copic Markers.

I added color to the cones with watercolor pencils, then drew in the lines with a darker shade. I also added a bit of shimmer to each scoop with a Wink of Stella Glitter Pen and added a layer of Glossy Accents for a fun, shiny look. The sentiment is from an older SSS set called, Color and Sunshine.

My second card uses a similar technique but was a bit more difficult to achieve. I won't tell you how long it took me to make this one - let's just say it took waaaay longer than it should have! ;)

I used the inlaid technique here again but added a circle die-cut this time. I used glitter paper from Die Cuts With a View - love this stuff - I want to use it on every card!

And that beautiful sentiment is from the Friendship Messages clear set.

One more card using this fun die! This time I used only the ice cream cone, second from the left. I carefully cut it away from the rest of the die-cut and stacked three scoops on top of each other.

I had so much fun creating this one! A bit of splatter added to the background makes it even more playful. I added some sparkle embossing powder on the pink, top scoop, then hand cut the chocolate coating and covered it with Glossy Accents before adhering it on top.The pink and yellow scoops are raised up a bit with dimensional adhesive.

That adorable, little "hi" is from Simon Says Stamp's Butterflies clear set.

I would love to share more cards that I've made with some of the other goodies I received, but I don't want to overwhelm anyone, so I'll be sharing those in the coming days. Besides, you've got more hopping to do!

Your next stop on the hop is the very talented, Lorraine Aquilina (Lols) and her blog, Lorraine's Loft!  I just know she's created something fabulous for you! If you run into a broken link, you can find the full list of blogs at the Simon Says Stamp blog. And if you'd like to see all the new goodies included in this release, just click here.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have fun hopping!

It's Been Too Long!

Hi everyone!

Once again, it's been way too long since I've posted. Two weeks this time. It's not because I haven't been creating because I have! It's just that I can't share anything with you yet.

I do have a card to show you today. It uses the Lots of Stars stamp set by Simon Says Stamp. I saw Shari Carroll use these colors awhile back and thought they were so pretty together!

After stamping various sizes of stars in the peach and gray inks, I added an open star image to each one and white embossed them. I purposely added the white embossing powder before the colored inks had dried completely so there would be a "snowy effect" on each star. I then added a bit of splatter to the entire panel. Here's a close-up.

I also added a bit of shimmer to the larger stars with a Wink of Stella Glitter Pen. It looks much better in real, I promise. The sentiment is also from Simon Says Stamp - from their Flower Friend set.

That's it for me tonight but please stop back on Friday for a really fun post. I'm so excited about it I can hardly stand it! I can't wait to share what I've been working on with you!

Hope you week is going well! Thank you for your visits and comments! I appreciate them so much!
