Last Two Days of Stretch Your Stamps 2

Hello and happy Saturday!

I have three cards to share with you today - all homework for days 10 and 11 of online card class

On day 10, the designers and teachers shared more fun ways to stretch those stamps. I loved Laurie Willison's beautiful card and wanted to try it. Here's my take:

Laurie used Fun Foam for her die-cut sentiment but I didn't have any, so I used 6 pieces of Neenah Solar White 110# cardstock. I love how the stamped leaves look on the sentiment! They are from the Paper Smooches set, Botanicals 2.

My next card was inspired by Dawn. It was fun playing with colored embossing powder again!

I think the bright colors look so cool against the dark, navy panel. I again used the Botanicals 2 set and added some white Enamel Accents here and there. The sentiment is from Mama Elephant's Up and Away set.

For my last card, I used the fun, Rounded Diamonds set from Avery Elle.

Laura Bassen shared a beautiful card using the same set. I took her design and flipped it to create a top folding card and added a couple of thin strips of DCWV Glitter Paper. The sentiment was created by using two different stamps. This, Hello Friend by Technique Tuesday and this one from WPlus9 called, Hand Lettered Thanks. I just masked off the frame and "hello" portion before stamping, then added the "you're the best" above it. Love stretching those sentiment stamps too!

Okay, I'm off to get a few things done around here then I'm hoping to play with more stamps later today. I sure have enjoyed this class! I always learn so much!

Thanks for the visit - have a great weekend! ♥

Day 9 - Stretch Your Stamps 2

Hi there!

It is so late! Almost 1:00am but I was determined to finish a card for day 9 of Stretch Your Stamps 2. It was just such a busy day and I could not find time to sit and create until now! It's okay though 'cause I'm a night owl anyway. :)

Today's lesson was all about stretching those beloved floral stamps and each of the designers' cards today were amazing! Dawn from WPlus9 shared a particularly beautiful card (does she create any other kind?) She is so darn talented and her videos are very easy to watch. I have learned so much from her and it's so inspiring!

Anyway, She shared a fun technique, stamping onto the Specialty Stamping Paper from Ranger. Here's my take on her card, using her own Spring Blooms stamp set.

The blue flowers were all created using only one of the leaf images from the stamp set. And it was really cool doodling all the black lines to highlight the flowers and leaves. I was really nervous to try it at first but once I added them to one petal, it became easier and was so fun to do! I love the results!

I sure am enjoying this class but I gotta get to bed sooner than this! Hoping I'm able to do my homework a little earlier for day 10! Night! ♥

Stretch Your Stamps 2-Days 7 & 8

Hello!

I'm so happy to have the day off from work so I can play with my stamps and finish my homework for the online card class, Stretch Your Stamps 2.

In the lessons from days 7 and 8, the designers and teachers shared so many awesome ideas using a fun, graphic stamp set called, Rounded Diamonds by Avery Elle. It's the kind of stamp set that I always struggle with, so these lessons were very inspiring for me.

I've created three cards - two with inspiration from class and one just for fun.

This card was inspired by Debby Hughes' beautiful card from day 7. The little tear drop stamps in this set are so cute! I used lots of different inks from SSS and Hero Arts for my stamping. And that fabulous, big "thanks" is from a WPlus9 set called, Hand Lettered Thanks.

My second card was inspired by Kelly Rasmussen from day 8. She shared a technique that has endless possibilities - stamping the images along the edge of a card.

Lately, I am loving the Sea Glass and Mint inks together - I just think it's such a pretty combination! I thought using the silver, glittery cardstock to add some sparkly hearts and a hello die-cut would compliment those soft colors well.

When my homework was finished, I found myself wanting to play more with this fun set. So, I made another card.

This time, I took this large rounded diamond and heat embossed it in white. Then I added some shading using the same two ink pads as above, along with some Lemon Chiffon ink. I cut out the shapes, popped them up with some foam adhesive and added the Thank You die-cut. It's a die that corresponds with the Hand Lettered Thanks set. It's fun because you can stamp the words onto the die-cut, so you end up with a little white border - love that!

Okay, it's a beautiful day so I'm heading outside! Thanks for stopping by! ♥

Bonus Day-Stretch Your Stamps 2

Hi there!

I've got a quick post tonight with a card to share for our bonus day in Stretch Your Stamps 2 online card class.

Today's lesson was all about having fun with "color me" stamps. Each of the designers used the sweet, Up and Away stamp set by Mama Elephant. It's such a cute set and I had fun coloring it!

Both Kryssi Ng and Debby Hughes used water colors to add a fun effect to their images. I wanted to give it a try too but it wasn't going well at first.

After laying down some water colors onto the umbrellas, I wanted to soften the colors a bit. But instead of adding more water with my paint brush, I decided (for an unknown reason) to spritz a bit of water onto the colors with a mini mister. I cringed at first but then I realized it looked really cool. What do ya think?

Isn't it fun when a new discovery is found accidentally? The cute critters were colored with water color pencils and blended with a Dove Blender. The sentiment is included in the stamp set.

That's it - short and sweet. I hope to be back sometime on Monday with a card for day 7.

Thanks for stopping by! ♥
