STAMPtember Creations Plus Blog Hop Winner!

Hello!

I have two cards to share with you today, using some fun goodies from Simon Says Stamps' STAMPtember release. But before I get to my cards, the winners from the STAMPtember blog hop have all been announced over on the SSS blog here.

The winner from my blog is . . . . . . . . . .LESLIE GOOD!!! Congratulations, Leslie! Simon Says Stamp has sent you an email.

Okay, I've been having fun creating lots of cards lately but seem to have no time to blog about them. I hate when that happens! So, I figured it will save time to share two of them in one post. They are both Christmas cards and I must say, it sure is gonna be a delight making cards this year with all the wonderful products out there!

This first card is for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is to make your own background. I used a new SSS stencil called, Swirls and Dots, adding the colors with two of their new inks - Cobblestone and Maliblue. Love them together!

The same inks were used to stamp the ornaments and the sentiment is from that same Ornaments set.

There is a wonderful, Wink of Stella sparkle on each ornament that is totally invisible in the above photo so here's a close-up.

I thought the MME Enamel Dots perfectly matched the inks!

My second card is a favorite because it uses the cutest die from the release! I absolutely love this die!

Seriously, isn't that adorable! So many possibilities with this cutie! It's called, Pile of Gifts. Before adhering the cut out panel to my card base, I first traced each little open spot lightly with a pencil. That way, I knew where I wanted each color to go. I used colored pencils, then carefully adhered the panel over the colored areas with dimensional adhesive. That die-cut sentiment is from the Deco Trees Die set.

Yup, more sparkle - can't put down that Wink of Stella pen!

Alrighty then, that's it for me - gotta run and get ready for work. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Thanks for the visit! ♥

Water Color Roses

Hello!

If you're looking for my STAMPtember blog hop post, click here.

Before I share my card, I want to thank those of you who responded to the my last post and for your support and enthusiasm for the new Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenges! I really appreciate it! ♥

My card today was inspired by the amazing Dawn Woleslagle from WPlus9. She just released a couple of brand new stamp sets - Pretty Peonies and Pretty Little Peonies. She also shared a video in which she water colors these images and if you haven't seen it, make sure you do! It is definitely worth watching! She has an amazing talent that I admire so much!

Anyway, if you know me at all, you know I ADORE peonies! So of course I had to order one of the stamp sets. I couldn't wait though, to try Dawn's water color technique, so I used another one of her sets called Coming Up Roses.

Just as Dawn did, I applied a Worn Lipstick Distress Marker directly to the stamp. After stamping only the outline image of the rose, I used a small brush and water to move the ink around, blending where I thought I should and leaving some white areas too.

I did the same with the leaves and added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Friendship Messages. The card base was stamped with Diagonal Stripes from My Favorite Things, using VersaMark, then embossed using Judikins Iridescent Sparkle Powder.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I am back to work on Monday after 9 days off and I don't mind telling you, I could easily stay home longer - I'm finding myself wanting to work less and less. . . .

Thank you for stopping by! ♥
