It's Not Easy. . . . .

. . . .to color when you've got a cold. I've been feeling pretty rotten lately. Sore throat, head ache and swollen glands. Lots of sneezing too. I haven't been sick in years, so I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later. I also broke my baby toe the other day. Been hobbling around here at home and at work. It felt a bit better today, so my limp isn't quite as bad.

I was able to create a couple of cards, in between the naps I've been taking. I'm still playing with the Large Flower Background from Hero Arts. It is such a pretty stamp! For this first card, I embossed it in white, colored with a mix of distress inks and water, added some Rock Candy Stickles for a glittery look, then ran it through my cuttlebug to cut out just a portion of it. The background is stamped with True Friends.

For my second card, I wanted to color just a couple of the flowers and cut them out. I decided to keep it very CAS. I attached the flowers to the side of the card base and added a few gems. The sentiment is from the same True Friends stamp. I just cut out the "friends forever" portion.

I have finally reached 200 followers, so as soon as I start to feel better, I'll be putting together some fun goodies to do my giveaway.

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy New Year to you! :)

gorgeous Barb. Sorry to hear you are unwell.... I must have gone out in sympathy... sore throat, coughing and sneezing... so know how you feel... get better soon... Love how you coloured and cut out only some of the background in your second card. Very cleverly done.

Oh, my sweet Barb - I am sorry you are not feeling well! But it totally does not show in your gorgeous cards! Love them both! It's the same over here (except for the baby toe - ouch!) :(
I hope you are feeling better soon! And you deserve thousands of followers. Just saying. Happy New Year to you! Vanessa x

Hello Barb
First let me thank you for the gorgeous Christmas card, it arrived this morning.
Secondly, I hope you recover quickly from your cold, the #toe may take a little longer though I think.
And now,your gorgeous cards.
A Blue and White card; a cool palette but it has calming qualities, you cannot go wrong here; and encompassing your whole area creates so much vitality, it is like swirling unconstrained water with bubbles, there is a certain energy about the card. What a lovely stamp too.
On a different scale we see your second creation; how the mood changes when we look at this card.
A warmer palette; soft, subtle and sentimental, and with some serious negative space going on!
Both are gorgeous cards Barb!
Smiles:)

So sorry to hear that you aren't tip-top, Barb. This time of year it seems so difficult to fend off the germs. And you are hobbling, too?! Good excuse to stay in and craft. Love these cards - the colors are amazing! Take care!

Hi Barb, that cold must be travelling round as I also have a stinker, sore throat sneezing and to top it all no mojo. Nevermind you have inspired me to play with my new flower background stamp again, its my only new stamp at present but I love it, so many possibilities with it!!! Have a Happy New Year and hope your cold gets better soon,
Hugs

Happy New Year, Barb. Hope you are feeling better...old wise man say, that a week of tea in the bed is the right medicine. If it doesn`t help, then you might need a doctor. For you, I just hope it will pass quickly.
