Crazy, Busy!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that I won't be around, here in blogland, or on Flickr, as much as I normally am, for the next two weeks. It's a crazy time of year in the floral department with Easter coming up. Not only that, but I am also having my whole family here for Easter, which means lots of spring cleaning and preparing for about 26 people.

I do want to find some time to photograph the store in all it's springtime glory! So hopefully I will have a post up soon, for you to see that!

I'm excited about something fun coming up, shortly after Easter, and will let you know when that happens.

I've also been thinking about my mom so much lately. She adored this time of year when the warmer weather came and she could buy flowers for her cute, little deck. I was trying to figure out the menu for Easter and thought to myself, "I need to call mom to see. . . ." then I stopped myself. . . .that's the first time that's happened since she's been gone. Such a strange feeling.

I'll be popping in and out, here and there, whenever I get the chance.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

What a sweet post, Barb. I know it must be difficult not to have your Mother at this time. You must know that I totally understand. Spring is always so colorful and bursting with new life that I think it only natural to miss your loved ones. My Mother has good days and bad days, and I am often sad that she will not be seeing her home again as well. Don't work to hard and enjoy your family dinner!

Have fun with family, Barb. I know exactly how you feel. When you think of calling and your mom (or in my case my dad) is not there. It's been 9 years since my dad passed away and I still miss him and wanting to share stuff with him. Please know you're not alone and I pray for comfort for you. Sending you hugs, Barb! xoxo

I'll be thinking about you, Barb. I know my Dad passed away 13 years ago this month. It was the day after Easter so I always think of him. Glad you will be surrounded by family on Easter.

Barb, can't wait to see your flower photos when you get a chance. Also, good luck with having your family over. It's a lot of preparation when you have such a big group. I'm sure it's so hard to not have your Mom around, but also so nice that you have such sweet memories of her.

Don't worry about your blogger friends, we'll still be here when life slows down a bit.

Hi Barb, I hope you have a nice Easter...it is always so hard especially that first year. It sounds like you had a special bond with your mom...I had that too and know how hard it is when that sweet face is no longer there to turn to. Looking forward to your return to blogland...and esp to pics of your lovely flowers. Take care....

Hi Barb, I just wanted to tell you that I enjoyed your blog post. I am wishing you a happy Easter and that you have a wonderful time with your family. I know what you mean about missing your Mom. My Mom died 35 years ago in July and I still miss her. You take care and God bless. Hugs to you.

Barb, I know this is a difficult time with your mom not here. She raised a wonderful daughter, you are so caring. It is so normal to think "Oh, I need to tell her something. " It does catch you off guard and is sad. I've been doing that since my best friend passed away just before Christmas. She was always calling or sending some sweet picture she had just seen. I made a folder on the computer and called it '"things I would have shared with Pat. Now when I see something that I would have shared with her,I put it into my folder.
I'm glad you have your family coming for Easter. It will be nice to get together. It's hard work trying to get ready for company, but in the end it's so worth it. Hope your family can help you.

Dear Barb - thanks for this update! I can't wait to see your floral fantasies. I, too, miss my Mom every single day - when I became an adult, we were the best of pals. How lovely that you are having family to share this blessed holiday......know it is lots of work, but such a blessing to be together. Take some time for yourself! I'll be thinking of you.
