Father's Day with Lawn Fawn!

Happy Saturday!

When I met Linda and Daria the other night (see post here,) I picked up a fun set of alphabets from Lawn Fawn called, Quinn's ABC's. I love that the letters in this set are big and open!

I colored them in with my Copics and created a shadow effect.

I could not find a good match with a green button, so I took a white one, colored it with a green Copic, then added a bit of dotty texture with another, darker green Copic - fun!

Hubby and I had a lovely evening out last night with five other couples. A delicious dinner and a dessert that was amazing! I didn't think to take photos of the meal, but when that HUGE piece of cake came to the table, I had to take a pic! Would ya look at that!

Ya can't tell by the photo, but that's a dinner-sized plate! The cake was so big, the twelve of us shared the one piece. Yup, if you didn't know by now, I am quite the chocolate lover! - SO YUMMY!!

Thanks for your visit - hope everyone's having a wonderful weekend!

Dinner With Flickr Friends and a Card!

Hi there!

I had a wonderful evening tonight! My friend, Linda and I met up with another Flickr friend, Daria!

Linda first met Daria a couple of years ago, but I wasn't able to meet with them back then. Well, Daria was in town with her daughter for orientation at the University of Minnesota, and this time I was able to join them.

Here we are, just after eating a yummy dinner at Tucci Benucch, in the Mall of America.

Then of course we headed to Archiver's. After a bit of shopping, we went up to the counter to pay for a few goodies, and what did we see? The brand new Tim Holtz, Summer Distress Inks! Daria had not been able to purchase the springtime ones yet, so she grabbed those, and I got the summer ones - YAY! :)

Of course we had to pose with them! It sure was nice to see Linda again, and wonderful to finally meet Daria! I only wish we would have had a bit more time together.

So, I do have a card to share with you too. I was cleaning up some scraps on my desk yesterday, and noticed a couple of different pieces of black and white patterned paper. I still wanted to play with the rose die-cut that Joy sent me, so I grabbed some dark gray felt and cut away. I rolled up three flowers, used a small piece of vellum and a little doily die-cut, and the card was done.

Not much stamping on this one - just the Hero Arts Sentiment, embossed in white.

Thanks for coming by! :)

Inspired Again!

Hey everyone!

I've got a card to share with you tonight that was inspired by my good friend, Nancy. She has a wonderful blog called Happy Heart Studio, and she also writes blog posts for her local stamp store called, Stamp Fever, where she teaches card making classes too. She is one talented lady, and when I saw this post here, I knew I just had to CASE one of those fabulous cards! (Scroll all the way down to the end of her post to see them.)

Nancy used the beautiful , Prim Poppy die-cut from memory box for her card. I happen to LOVE this die-cut and couldn't wait to use it again!

I used Nancy's idea of the script in the background and the larger, darker sentiment too. I wanted to do something a bit different, so I added some Stickles to the poppies. I haven't used Stickles in so long - love their pretty glitter effect!

Thank you, Nancy! I'm so glad you share your talent - you inspire me!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Shaded Lilac and Tumbled Glass

Hi!

I'm up late tonight, as usual, not wanting to go to bed. I am such a night owl. Especially when I've worked all day, with not a whole lot of time to play! Everyone else has gone to bed and I love the quiet. Although I still hear some rumbling thunder in the distance - quite the storms went through earlier tonight, but nothing severe, thank goodness.

I know many of you have already played with the new, Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Shaded Lilac, Squeezed Lemonade and Peacock Feathers, and I know you love them as much as I do! So, I wanted to find out what my favorite of the three looked like with another fave of mine - Tumbled Glass. Well, after creating this card, I can tell you, I love the combination!

For the background, I used second generation stamping with the Hero Arts Lattice stamp and Tumbled Glass Ink. I mixed the same ink with water on my craft sheet, and did this again with Shaded Lilac. Then I painted the colors onto the white embossed, Hand Drawn Flower from Hero Arts. I cut out the flower and added it to the background with dimensional adhesive.

It's a really simple card but it's my favorite thing to do - just stamping, coloring and cutting! Thanks for coming by! Have a good week! :)
