Pairing up with Cindy!

Happy Friday!

When you're having trouble finding inspiration to create a card, pairing up with a crafty friend is a great idea to help jump-start your creativity. They talked about just that in the Kickstart, online card class the other day, so, I was excited when my friend, Cindy, asked if we could pair-up and challenge each other. You can find Cindy's Flickr photostream here and her blog here. We decided to each use the same stamp from Hero Arts called, Large Flower Background. It's one of my faves and it was fun to pull it out and play with it again.

Here's my card:

I stamped the Large Flower Background in VersaMark and white embossed. Then I lightly colored two of the flowers with Copics and cut them out. The background panel was stamped with the Hero Arts, True Friends cling stamp. I used  Hero Hues Lavender Dye Ink, stamping onto a lighter purple cardstock for a tone-on-tone look.

Please join me and pop over to Cindy's blog to see how she used this beautiful stamp!

Hope you all have a fun weekend! :)

Thank You Cards

Hello!

Over this past couple of days I was finally able to make a few cards. I've been struggling since last weekend's fun at Scrapfest and it felt good to finally find some time and mojo to create! (If you missed my Scrapfest post, you can click here or scroll down.)

I needed to make a few thank you's and decided to create three, totally different cards.

This first one uses the Friend Definition cling stamp from Hero Arts, stamped in Soft Pool Shadow Ink onto some pool colored patterned paper. The Dogwood, also from Hero Arts, was stamped and white embossed onto an oval vellum piece. I added a bit of darker color to portions of the petals.

My second card uses Grungeboard, which I die-cut with a Tim Holtz die, then painted with a Pool Paint Dabber and stamped with Hero Arts' Old Letter Writing in black. The glitter strips were created with double sided tape and Martha Stewart Glitter. The glittery, feathered butterflies were a gift from my friend Joy - love them!

Here's my third card. I stamped the Friend Definition again, but this time I white embossed it, then added color using emboss resist with Distress Inks. The Bold Pumpkin is Hero Arts. I covered it in Orange Peel Stickles, cut it out and added it to the sentiment strip with dimensional adhesive.

Thanks for the visit! Hope everyone has a wonderful week! :)
