Kathy's Lily Pad Palette Challenge!

Oh, my! Has it really been two weeks since I've posted here on my blog? I know I've been busy, but I didn't think it had been that long.

We've got another color challenge from Kathy over on the Lily Pad Cards blog. Look at these yummy colors!

This time we are sponsored by Globecraft Memories. It's a neat company with some wonderful products like bubble frames, Piccolo Card Decor, Pure Sparkle Glitter and more! We were lucky enough to get to play with some of their newest products. It was a challenge for me to create something with elements I had never used before, but it was also lots of fun! I'm not thrilled with my projects but I know if I played some more, there would be a whole lot of cool ideas I'd come up with for these products. Here's my first one.

I used the Tartan Background stamp from Hero Arts for the inner, oval frame, layering it over the melon colored, larger oval. The flowers are from the Sizzix/Hero Arts, stamp and die-cut set called, Bold Pop Designs. I stamped and embossed them in white on the same melon colored paper. Here is a side view of the frame. It doesn't show in the photo, but it also has a little stand in the back, just like a normal picture frame would have. And isn't the globe fun?! :)

Then I decided I wanted to make a card, using one of the frames and a globe, along with the cute, Piccolo Card Decor. They are like tiny, little chipboard pieces. I stamped the Fabulous Flourish from Hero Arts on the melon paper. The oval and green flower are both stamped with Old Letter Writing.

. . . . and a side view.

Since one of the themes for this month's Hero Arts contest is interactive cards, I thought it would be fun to make my flower a wobbly one, and also make it so the globe lifts open from one side.

So there ya have it! A chance to win some fun products, from a really cool company, just by using the fabulous colors from Kathy's palette! I sure hope you all join in the fun! You can check out all the details on the Lily Pad Cards blog and see the fun and beautiful creations from the rest of the design team.

On a personal note . . . with Mother's Day coming, I'll be putting in extra long hours in the floral department at work this weekend. It's been crazy this week already, just getting everything all set to go, so I have not been able to get to all the blogs I usually enjoy visiting. I'm hoping to get back to it soon after the weekend.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! Hope it's a wonderful day!
