Finally, My Very Special Post. . . .

Hi everyone.

I've been wanting to do this post for so long but each time I started it, my words didn't seem right. I finally decided that no matter how I word this, you'll understand and hopefully appreciate it.

After my mom died June 30th, I started to receive the most wonderful cards in the mail from my Flickr and blogging friends. The pictures don't do any of these cards the justice they deserve. They are all so beautiful! I cherish every one of them. Each day I would open another card or two and get such a wonderful warm feeling. It was like each of you were giving me the hugs that I needed. I am so blessed to be a part of this community of crafters and I want to give all of you my sincere, heartfelt thank you! Your cards, caring words and lovely messages were so needed. Thank you, thank you, thank you. . .

From the top, down the left side they are from Nancy, Natalie, Dawn and Kelly. Down the right side, from Lin, Anne, Sally and Vera.

From the top, down the left side, they are from Alexandra, Arlene, Linda and Joy. Down the right side from Sue G. Virginia, Tiffany and Anita.

I know they are difficult to see, and I wish I could take individual pictures of each one, but I just don't have the time. Please know that I love all of them, and all of you too!

Take care and have a wonderful weekend!

Playing with New Stamps!

Hey there!

I've got a little card to show you today. It's made using four different Hero Arts stamps. The cloud is from the Simple Things set, the flowers, grass and sentiment are from the Sending Smiles set and I used both the Graph Background and the Hello Flags stamps.

This is only the second "scene" card I've made. I really want to do more of them. They seem to turn out so cute. I'm entering this into Jenny's challenge. It's all about using stamping on your project this week and we all love to do that! Here's a close-up of my card to show you the dimension given to the images.

I'm really loving that graph background stamp! It's gonna be difficult not to use it on every card!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope the sun is shining where you are!

Berry simple

Hi everyone!

I'm heading to work soon, so just another quick post. I received some new stamps yesterday and wanted to use this cute strawberry to make a clean and simple card. It's from the Sparkle Clear set called Designer Fruit.

It's difficult to see in the picture but I added some tiny black pearls here and there on the strawberries and 3 more on the right side of the red ribbon.

It was a fun and easy card to make and I like the way it turned out.

Hope you all have a happy day!

A "Joy" of a Card!

Hi all!

I needed some inspiration today, and a great place to get it is from my friend and fellow Hero Hostess, Joy Taylor! Her cards are always done to perfection, so crisp and fresh! Thanks for inspiring me, Joy!

I love this card, created by Joy back in February. I used this same set as she did, just different flowers.

It's a fairly close case of Joy's card. I used darker Copics to color the flowers, left the shape rectangle and used a different sentiment from this set.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday! I'm off to work. Lots of plants coming into the floral department today. Keep smilin'! :)

Layered Butterfly

Another Monday is here. Hope it's going well for you so far. I love this new Hero Arts "Artists Butterfly!" There are some gorgeous examples of just how versatile it is, in the Flickr pool here.

I first stamped in ColorBox Lavender. Then stamped it a second time on vellum, with the same color, and clear embossed. For the third layer, I stamped it again on vellum, with VersaMark and embossed using a lavender embossing powder. Lots of Hero Arts gems, Cling Dots for the background and done. The sentiment is from the Huge Hugs set.

I am still working on a special post. It's just taking me longer than I thought it would to get it all finished.

I also want to give a special shout out to my friend Martha! She doesn't have a blog but I know she stops and visits here once in awhile. So hi, Marth! Love and miss you tons!

Thanks for poppin' in today!
