Hero Arts and Sizzix

Last weekend at Scrapfest, I picked up a couple of fun stamp sets from Hero Arts and Sizzix and have been playing with them this week. One of them is the reindeer, tree set and I love it! I stamped and cut a couple of reindeer and trees earlier in the week and they've sitting on my desk, waiting to jump on a card. Then this morning I saw the new challenge over at the Lily Pad blog. It's a bling challenge, so off I went, creating this Christmas card.

I had made a card awhile back with pink, felt clouds, so why not some pink, felt snow this time?! The reindeer are colored with copics and gems were added to the antlers for the bling factor. I also added a row of small, white pearls along the snowline and some X-mas Red Stickles on one of the trees. The background is stamped with Hero Arts, Holiday Background cling, which I love too! This card was so fun to make!

Thanks for stopping by today. I want you to know how much I appreciate your visits and comments! Have a wonderful weekend! :)

CAS-ual Fridays Mini

Just a short post tonight to show you my clean and simple mini card. I'm entering it into the CAS-ual Fridays challenge this week.

The flower is a new one for me from Jillibean Soup. Love this cute set! I stamped and colored the largest flower in the set twice and two more smaller flowers, then cut them out and layered them together. It's difficult to tell in the photo but I've curled up the edges of the pink flower and used pop dots to give some dimension. The card measures 3x4 inches.

More Scrapfest Cards and Dinner!

Happy Monday to you!

If you haven't seen my other two Scrapfest posts, the first one is here and second one here . I shared some really fun photos, so you might want to take a look.

I have more photos to show you today from Scrapfest too. I must say, now that it's over, I am so far behind on everything in my life. Yikes! I feel a bit crazed but am so glad I have the day off from work today so I can get caught up. Mounds of laundry, house in disarray, groceries needed, bills not paid yet, lawn needs mowing and because of all the new goodies I bought at the event, my scrap space is a total mess! Breathe, Barb, breathe. . . .

Okay, let's get onto why you're here. These first photos are of the three cards we made in the second Hero Arts class, taught by Jennifer and Shari. It was called, Holiday Techniques.

The snowflakes on this first card are stamped in Colorbox Frost White Ink, then again (on a couple of them) with Hero Hues, Cerulean Chalk Ink. Gives a nice shadow effect.

Here's a fun one, using one of the new combination, stamp and embossing sets. Love the look!

On this last card, we used this new, sweet Christmas stamp. Shari showed us how to do the fabulous ribbon treatment. Looks difficult but it is so easy to do! I'll be using it again for sure!

These classes were so fun and Shari and Jennifer are fab teachers. We learned, we laughed and we had a great time!

That same night, a bunch of us Flickr groupies joined Shari and Jennifer for dinner! The food was delicious and we laughed some more! Here's the photos I took of that night.

Me and Shari. She is not only so easy to talk to, she really makes me laugh!

Here's Anita, (who I met last year and it was so good to see her again!) with Trinh and my Hero Arts, hostess sister Robin! Yay! It was just plain wonderful meeting both of them this year! :)

Here's my good friend and fellow Minnesotan, Linda with Jennifer and Shari. I am always happy to see Linda! She keeps us all moving from one make and take to the next, seems to know that humongous mall like the back of her hand and is the sweetest friend!

This one is of Anne and Linda. Anne is a great friend too! We have so much fun together! She just lives over in Wisconsin, so she's close enough for me to see more often, which I love!

Me and Anne again but this time with Britt. She is a college student at the University of Minnesota and it was really nice to see her again too! :)

Love this one!

Me and Jennifer. She's such a sweetheart and what fun she is to talk to!

This last one is a group shot. Sorry it's so small. I edited it in my photostream because it was so dark, then copied and pasted it here. If you want to see it bigger, check out this link.

I'm sure you've guessed by now that I loved every minute of the weekend and I didn't even show you all the goodies I bought! We received lots of free stuff too, so as soon as I get caught up around here, I'm planning on playing and crafting lots!

Thanks for sticking with me through this long post! Hope you have a great week! :)
