I'm back today to share a couple of cards for the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #3.
I love playing with stencils and embossing paste so this was a fun one!
My first card was inspired by the amazingly talented Shari Carroll and her card here.
I used some wonderful Tim Holtz products for this one. I took six of his Idea-ology Alpha Tiles, flipped them over to the blank, white side, and stamped them with some Sketchbook Letters from Hero Arts. The numbers and butterflies are from two different Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz sets - Stuff To Say and Papillon. The Damask stencil from Art-C was used with some Ranger Texture Paste and I also used lots of Tim Holtz Distess Inks. Here's a closer look:
For my second card, I used the new Tim Holtz Christmas Stencil with the textured paste again. By choosing the words, Wish, Believe and Hope, I was able to create a non-Christmas card. (Sorry, but I am nowhere near being ready for anything associated with winter, including Christmas!)
The other sentiments and black dots are from the Ordinary Day set from Technique Tuesday, by Ali Edwards. I also stamped some small text here and there, using a very old Inkadinkado, woodblock stamp. I white embossed and cut out the butterflies, popping them up with dimensional adhesive. Here's a close-up:
It sure felt good to get inky and messy! Need to do this more often!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Hubby and I are heading to check out the Twin Cities Premium Outlets on Saturday, which is only about 10 minutes away from home (could be a very dangerous thing!) It's a huge outlet mall which just opened last weekend and we are really looking forward to spending the day together!
Thanks for stopping by! ♥
