I'm excited to be back for the second week, guest designing for Concord and 9th!
This time we're creating with their adorable, "Orange You Sweet" stamp and die set. It's such a cute set and so fun to play with!
Last week, I created four cards. I was on a roll and then, BAM! My mojo decided to take a vacation - gah! Hate when that happens, especially when I'm guest designing! (insert sad, embarrassed face here.) BUT! It happens to everyone and I know I'll be back to my creative self soon. Until then, I did enjoy making a couple of fun cards for this week's post!
I created a yummy design with a puny sentiment for my first card. It's perfect for a sweet thank you! And I figured a card with watermelon on it, deserves to have its photo taken outside!
Just simple stamping and die cutting here, with a little ink blending and a couple strips of black and white, striped paper. I cut some of the watermelon images into halves, and even quarters, for a more playful look.
For my second card, I chose some summery colors and white embossing. I very carefully colored the lemons, limes and oranges with Copic Markers. I say carefully because you don't want to hurt the nibs of your makers, which can happen if they touch the embossed lines. Of course, I had to add a bit of shimmer with a Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen. And I LOVE the, "I could just squeeze you" sentiment!
There are so many possibilities with this set! The adorable fruit images and all the fabulous sentiments are perfect for your summer cards! It's a classic that I'll reach for many times in the future, I'm sure!
Don't forget to head over to the Concord and 9th blog to check out the Feature Friday post and see what Rosali and Lisa also created with this set. You won't want to miss it!
