COOL TECHNIQUE!

Hi there!

I'm hoping to write a really quick post tonight. Been a very long day and I'm trying hard to keep up with my homework for Clean and Simple 3 class.

It was my favorite day so far. Fabulous cards and ideas were shared and I really loved Stephanie's fun, glittery technique!

Today's lesson was all about textural effects. Stephanie showed us a different way of using glitter on stamped images and it is so cool looking! Here's my card, which is an almost total CASE of her's.

At first glance you see a bright, fun card but the cool part is on the balloons. Check out this close-up:

Isn't that so neat looking?! It's a technique where you capture the glitter underneath some clear embossing powder. The glitter stays put but still has it's shimmer - so fun! (I used Tim Holtz Distress Glitter.)

The images and sentiment are all from Simon Says Stamp. Sorry, I'm too tired to share the links. If you want to know, just shoot me an email.

Okay, I'm off to bed - gotta work again tomorrow and I want to be up early enough to at least read through day 10's lesson.

As always, thank you so much for stopping by! ♥

More Creative Coloring

Hi there!

In day 8 of Clean and Simple 3 we were given more inspiration for creative coloring. I absolutely loved Donna's beautiful card! She took a few Copic Markers and drew some soft, pretty flowers! Here's my take:

I need more practice doing this, especially on my leaves, but it was so fun trying!

Both sentiments are from Simon Says Stamp. "Thankful" is from their Thanks set and "for your kindness" is from their Thinking of You set.

Thank you for stopping by! Hope your week is going well and you're finding some time to be creative! ♥

Creative Coloring

Hi!

Monday is winding down and I finally have a card to share for our day 7 lesson from earlier today in the CAS 3 class. It is definitely more difficult to do my homework when I'm not in my craft room all day. But I must say it was so nice to work among all the beautiful, spring flowers today, especially since our weather has once again turned quite cold. We're even suppose to get some snow tomorrow! What?!! I wish I had Mother Nature's phone number. I'd call her up and give her a piece of my mind!

Okay, enough about our crappy weather and onto my card.

Kristina Werner shared a neat technique with really pretty results for our "Creative Coloring" lesson today. She created her card using a large die-cut sentiment. I decided to use a die-cut image instead.

I die-cut the Clustered Leaves Die from the white cardstock and then adhered it onto a vellum panel, which I had colored by swiping it with different colors of Copic Markers.

The Copics on vellum give such a soft look and I thought the Simon Says Stamp Sentiment from their Inside and Out Sayings set was perfect.

Thanks for stopping by! ♥
