More Scrapfest Photos from Day 1!

Happy Saturday!

This post is a continuation of my first day at Scrapfest, so if you haven't seen yesterday's post, click here so you don't miss the fun we all had!

After Anne and I left the Tim Holtz class, we headed right up to the fourth floor for the Hero Arts classes. We took two classes in a row from Jennifer and Shari! We made three cards in each class. The classes were so fast paced. . .45 minutes each, and I've never made cards so fast in my life. It was difficult but very exhilarating! Here's Jennifer and Shari being the goof balls that they are!

And here is Shari. So cute, so fun and just so sweet!

Natasha was there too! She is just a little peanut, so full of energy and almost 8 months pregnant! We saw her shopping at Archiver's too and boy can she shop! Anne and I were getting tired by then, but not Natasha! Isn't she cute?

Here is Jennifer in the middle of teaching the class. I love listening to her voice and she says the funniest things! She calls glue dots "snot dots," and if ya think about it, they really do look like dots of snot! We had a good laugh at that one!

I thought you might like to take a look at my crafting space in the middle of making a card during this fast and furious class.

They gave us lots of free stuff too! With each class, we received a pack of goodies and during the class they did some random giveaways too! Here's what I got from both classes.

The next six photos are of the cards we made. I won't explain each one because these posts get too long. I love them all! I think the one with the beautiful felt leaves is my favorite. It doesn't open. The "togetherness" panel slides out. My other fave is the pretty resist one with the gorgeous blue ribbon and unique opening. Enjoy:

After the Hero classes we went up to Archivers for some shopping. I was disappointed because they did not have the Fabulous Flourish or the Plaid Background! But I did get some great stamps!

That's it from day 1. I hope you enjoyed it! I tried to make it so you'd really get the feel of our day. I'll be leaving again this afternoon to go back. I don't have any classes today but planning on doing some more make-n-takes, shopping again and of course dinner with everyone at 6:00. Can't wait for that! I'll take more photos and share them either tonight or tomorrow.

Have a great day! :)

SCRAPFEST!! (First Day)

Hi everyone!

I cannot tell you how much fun the first day of Scrapfest was! This was the huge, monster sign that greeted us when we arrived in the rotunda at the mall.

I met up with Linda, Anne, and Anita in the morning and we went directly to the Hero Arts Make-n-take booth.

There sat the Hero Arts artists! It was so fun to actually see them in person!

We were the first ones there and got to do our make-n-take right away, no standing in line! Yay! Here's Anne working hard on her card.

Here's Anita, working on her card.

Then we ran into Jenn and her friend.

And here's Anita, Linda, Anne and I after the Make-n-take.

And here's the card we all made. So cute!

We split up at that time because Anne and I had to head back to the Rotunda for the Tim Holtz class! We were so excited! While we were waiting in line for the class to start, we ran into Sarah! I recognized her right away!

Anne and I got to sit right up front, not 5 feet from Mr. Holtz! We made the most amazing project and laughed through the whole class! He is so cute and very funny! We really did sit this close to him! I did not zoom in at all with the camera.

I turned around and saw Latrice! So fun!

Here I am working on the tiny, little project.

And here is what we made. A teeny, tiny, mini-album! It is so cool!

We were all finished and guess what? We got to take a picture with the one and only himself! He was so nice!

He let everyone keep the supplies we used in class and gave us all a gift!

Look closely. That tiny bottle is a new small size of Glossy Accents that is also refillable. And as you can see, Tim was very generous and gave us each a big pack of Grungeboard and one of his new Christmas embossing folder sets that aren't even in the stores yet! What a guy!

The Hero Arts classes were next on the agenda, but this is getting so long already. I need to go and make dinner, do laundry and be with my family a bit. So I will post the rest of my first day at Scarpfest in the morning. I'm not heading to the mall until afternoon tomorrow. I also promise to take more photos because tomorrow night we are all going to have dinner together! Have a wonderful night and stop by tomorrow for the rest! :)

Been Awhile!

Hi and happy Wednesday!

I feel like it's been forever since I've posted anything here on my blog or on Flickr. I guess it's only been 5 days but it seems much longer than that. It's not that I haven't been making cards because I have. I just can't show some of them to you yet. Two of the cards are going with me to Scrapfest this weekend. The 20 or so of us from the Hero Arts Flickr group (that includes Shari and Jennifer from Hero) are all going out to dinner on Saturday night and we've decided to have a card swap! I'm getting almost too excited! Do ya know what I mean? Have you ever felt that way? When I think about it, I get so happy and excited, I feel like I might just burst! I am planning on taking lots of pictures and because I live so close to the Mall of America, I'll be able to come home each night and hopefully have enough time to upload the photos to share with you. Can't wait!

I do have a card to show you today. I saw this design on Lin's card here and wanted to give it a try. Here is what I came up with.

I used the Three Sunflowers and clear embossed them on white card stock, then used Distress inks in Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo. The background is stamped with the Dandelion in a couple of the same inks. I've had the ribbon for a very long time. It was a scrap piece from the flower department where I work.

Thanks for stopping by today! I'll be blogging during the weekend with my fun from Scrapfest so be sure to pop in! Have a great day! :)
