Feel Better

YAY!! It's almost Friday!

I've got another quick post for you today, using the fun and popular, WPlus9 stamp set called, Fresh Cut Florals.

This set is so fun to play with - lots of stamp layering. I needed a card for a friend who is not feeling well and thought these colorful flowers would brighten her day.

Thanks for the visit - I appreciate it so much! :)

Resist Canvas

Hey there!

If you'd like to see my very first Art Journaling page - you can find it here or scroll down to the previous post.

I've once again been inspired by Shari Carroll! I happen to think she is just amazing and love everything she creates! This time it was a card and video, using Resist Canvas shapes by Prima. Her card is so beautiful!

Here is what I came up with using this cool product .

These plain canvas pieces come in different shapes such as flowers, birds and labels. They have a resist print, built right in, so when you add color, it shows up beautifully! So fun to play with!

I used Distress Stains to add my color, then brought in some more shading with Copic Markers.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great week! :)

Finally!!!

Hi there!

I'm really excited today to share my first Art Journaling page with you! I've been gathering supplies for quite awhile now and watching lots of different videos. My favorites, and most inspiring, are Shari and Vicky. Both of these talented ladies do some amazing Art Journaling!

For a long time, I could not get started. I wasn't sure where to begin. Then I realized the first page in my journal should be about that very thing. I think part of the problem getting started was wanting everything to be just right. But I needed to just let go and create. So here it is.

I used an embossing folder on some cardstock to create the textured background then I went to town with Distress Inks, misting, Gesso mixed with water, some Tim Holtz Tape and Hero Arts' Sketchbook Letters. I really love how it turned out and hope I'm able to come up with some more ideas for future pages!

Thanks for stopping by - I'm rushing out the door to work - glad to be doing that today - gloomy and rainy here.

Have a great week! :)

Just Sharing

Hi there!

I hope you're all enjoying the weekend! I have to head to work soon but wanted to share a couple of cards I recently made. They were both created for Summer Card Camp 2, using the color combo we were given during the last week of class.

I wasn't sure about the combination of dark brown, light brown, dark purple, light purple and pool but after playing around with it, I came up with a couple of cards I really like!

Here's the first one.

I used some die-cutting on this one - the butterfly is from Memory Box and the strip down the center was done with the Pinpoint Border die from Simon Says Stamp.

My second card uses the same color combo but we were to create a card in a style we don't use often. I'm not one to use a vintage or shabby chic style too often, so that's the direction I went with this one.

Lots of distressing here - so fun to do!

Thanks for the visit! :)
