Hey everyone!
There's a challenge for you at the end of the post - we'd love it if you'd play along!
My good friend Marcy and I met for the first time back in October at Scrapfest and we hit it off right away. Ever since that weekend, we've kept in touch by e-mail, Flickr messaging and phone calls. She has become a very dear friend! We both wish we lived closer to each other so we could craft together and today, we did the next best thing.
We challenged each other to created a card, at the same time, while talking on the phone! Now, I know what you're thinking - why didn't we use Skype? The answer is because neither of us have it set up on our computers. Maybe next time!
So, we first chose a photo from Pinterest. Take a look at this beautiful, fun cake!
I adore those colors and that flower is awesome! We took a bit of time last night thinking about the photo and what we were going to use. Then Marcy called me today, and while she was creating her take on the photo, I was creating mine!
I took the photo quite literally and came up with this:
It was so fun die-cutting all those circles, coloring the Hero Arts flower and adding the tiny, inked circles with the end of an eraser on a pencil, all while gabbing with Marcy! We talked, we laughed and we could hear each others thought process as we created. It was almost like we were sittin' next to each other - so fun! :)
You can click on Marcy's blog post here to see her gorgeous take on the photo, and we have a challenge for YOU too! We'd love it if you would play along and create a card using the same photo for inspiration. We both have a little prize package to send to two random winners! The deadline, the rules, and the details of where to link your card, are here on our Flickr discussion thread.
Thanks for sticking with me for this long post! Hope you'll join us in this fun challenge! :)

Beautiful Flower During a Snowstorm
Hi There!
I've been playing with a new stamp from Hero Arts called, Painted Flower. It's such a pretty stamp! I inked it up with their Cornflower, Mid-Tone Shadow Ink and a green marker for the stems and leaves. Love how it stamps to look like you've colored it with shading - so easy!
It's a fitting card for the way I'm feeling tonight - wishing for spring to come! We had quite the snowstorm last night, leaving us with close to a foot of wet, heavy snow. Hope the branches of my pine tree in the back yard don't snap in two!
My hubby used the snow blower to clear the driveway before heading to work this morning, but it continued to snow most of the day. The boys and I knew we'd have to do it again and headed outside later on. Well, the big city snow plow had come by to clear the street, and this is what it left for us at the bottom of our driveway!
Look at those HUGE boulders! I know they are only doing their job, but come on!! And our snow blower will not get through that thick heavy stuff either, so we had to shovel all that by hand! ARG!!!!
After about an hour or so, with very sore muscles, here's what it looked like - whew!
Now you know one of the many reasons why I'm longing for spring! Hope it gets here soon!
Thanks for stopping by today - hope it's sunny and warm where you are! :)
