You Won't Believe This!

Hi there!

Guess what? I am guest designing today over in the pond! Yup, you read that correctly. ME! Barb! Guest designer for the Lily Pad Cards blog! Ahhh!

I am telling you, I was so shocked when Deborah emailed me and invited me to do this. I quickly accepted and got right down to business, creating three new cards. Then, of course, I lost the sheet that I had written all the supplies and instructions on, so when the deadline came along to email everything to Lily Pad, I was scurrying to get it done.

I'm so excited about this, and it goes without saying, very honored too! Thank goodness I had some mojo at the time (haven't seen it since.) Here's a peek at one of the cards I made.

To see the full view, and my other two cards, click on over to the pond. I'd really appreciate it if you could leave me a comment over there!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing in my excitement! Woo, hoo! :)

Penny Black Saturday Challenge!

Hey there!

It's been awhile since I last posted here on the old blog. Work has been crazy and it's only gonna get more nuts. I did find a bit of time the other day to play with my new Penny Black stamp set called, Christmas Treasures. I won it in a challenge a couple of weeks ago, along with some of their gorgeous cardstock! This stamp set has a bunch of wonderful, little stamps! Here are the two I used for my card.

The reason I showed this photo is so you can see how I stamped the pine branch with pinecone several times. I did this to make it look like it was a portion of a tree, since the challenge this week at Penny Black Saturday is trees and green. I wanted to use something other than an actual tree stamp.

I started by stamping a couple of the branches, then I added the bird stamp, carefully lining it up to look like it was part of the tree. Then I stamped the pine branch a couple more times, surrounding the bird. I colored it all with Copics, added the dotty ribbon and a Hero Arts sentiment.

Thanks for coming by! I don't know how much I'll be around the rest of the week. I'll be working lots, and then on Thursday, we're heading over to my sister's house, along with the rest of my family, for a yummy meal and great company! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! :)
