I'm very excited today! I have the honor of guest designing this whole month for the Simon Says Stamp challenge blog!
Yup - that's right! I get to share a card with you, along with their amazing design team, every Wednesday of this month! :) Can you tell I'm happy?!
So let's get right to it. This week's challenge is sympathy or thinking of you. Whenever I need to create a sympathy card, I like to keep it clean and simple, with a muted or neutral color palette. The first thing that came to mind was the beautiful, With Sympathy, clear stamp set from Hero Arts.
I kept it very simple by stamping one of the flowers from the set in Antique Linen Distress Ink, around two thirds of piece of Neenah, Classic Crest Solar White Paper. I used shadow stamping to add a bit of depth, by stamping the flower again in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The sentiment is from the same set. I then layered the panel onto a piece of Bazzill black cardstock.That was then adhered onto a piece of Neenah Desert Storm Paper, which I used as my card base.

Before I show you my card, I have to take a moment to say some heartfelt thank you's. My sweet friend Virginia and the the other Hero Arts hostesses, (who I met at Scarpfest this past September) gave me a wonderful surprise birthday blog hop last week! I loved every blog post, every card and every birthday wish! They are such good people, wonderful friends and I love each one of them! So, thank you ladies - you truly made my birthday extra special! I also want to thank those of you who sent me cards, messages and special birthday wishes! Thank you, thank you, thank you! :)
Okay, I do have a card to share tonight. I couldn't help myself from picking up this adorable stamp from Hero Arts called, Sleeping Snowman. I bought the matching die too. I had lots of fun creating this card!
I used an acetate overlay, stamped with snowflakes. My snowman was colored with makers and I added white Enamel Accents for the dots on the paper pieced scarf. I dabbed his orange nose with some Glossy Accents and used green and red Stickles for the holly on his hat.
