90-Minute Scramble

Hi!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! Earlier today, I hosted a 90-minute card making scramble over in the Hero Arts Flickr pool. The theme was to make a Christmas card, using non-traditional flowers. Everyone that played along had an hour and a half to finish a card, take a picture of it, load it onto the computer and post it on the challenge thread. I've been on the other end of one of these challenges and I have to say it's much easier hosting it, but it's tons of fun either way! I think we had about 30 people playing today, so a nice turn out. The cards were all wonderful! If you'd like to see them, check out the link here.

Here is the card I made to show everyone an example.

I used paper from the beautiful Christmas pack of Webster's Pages for the background and leaves. The Hero Arts Music Background stamp was embossed in white on white card stock and I used the resist technique to add some shading with Antique Linen Distress Ink. The handmade flower was rolled using a dark red card stock, then Stickles and a pearl were added. The sentiment is also from Hero Arts.

Here is a close-up of the flower.

I had such fun today hosting the challenge! I hope we continue them in the future! It really gets those creative juices flowing!

Hope the rest of your weekend is fun! :)

Fab Five! :)

Happy Friday!

It's definitely a happy day for me! I was a Fab Five winner yesterday on the Hero Arts Blog! It came at the perfect time too. I've been searching local stores here for a few stamps that I want and have not been able to find them. Now I can order them with my winnings! Yay!

Here is the card I won with:

I have been on vacation all week and it's been so nice! The weather has not turned too cold yet and no snow either. Another reason to be happy! The temps this weekend are suppose to be close to 60 degrees. Gotta love that in Minnesota, in November!
So since I've had the week off, I've used much of the time to make lots of Christmas cards and tags!

I've made multiples of this card here, to send to family and friends this year. Still have quite a few more to make but I'm getting there.

I have been busy making other Christmas cards too. Some for the Hero Arts November contest and some just for fun.

These are all in my Flickr photostream so if you need any info, just click on the link over on my sidebar.

And if you haven't heard yet, I am hosting the next 90-minute card-making scramble in the Hero Arts Flickr pool on Saturday November 6th at 3:00pm Central time. I'd love it if you could hop over and play along! Click here to read all about how this challenge works. I've got a fun theme and a nice prize package for one randomly chosen winner! Hero Arts is also going to give one lucky winner a free digikit! So come and play. . .these scrambles are so fun! :)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by!
