Heavy Heart

I'm writing this post tonight with a heavy heart. I found out that a good friend and co-worker has lost her son. I've worked with her for more than 25 years. Her son was in the Army, has since come home from serving in Iraq and been doing really well. We were all at a party last weekend for her 60th, surprise birthday party, which her three kids planned so perfectly for her.

After hearing the news, I wanted to do something, so I've made her a sympathy card. This is the most difficult one I've ever had to make. My heart aches for her and her family.

Thank you for coming by. Please give a hug to those you love. . . . .life can be so short. . . . .

90-Minute Scramble

Happy Weekend!

There was a 90-minute scramble over on the Hero Arts Flickr sight today, hosted by sweet Hannah. She wanted us to either use the Woodgrain stamp, or distressing on our cards. I don't own the woodgrain, so I used lots of distress inks to shade the background around the rose image.

It was a fun challenge and Hannah did a great job hosting! You can see all the cards that were made here. I'm always so impressed by the talent and creativity during these challenges! If you've never played in one, you should give it a try. . .so fun! Here's the schedule which shows the dates for future scrambles.

I just saw our weather report for the rest of the weekend. They're predicting a foot of snow for Sunday into Monday. Not fun after a week of close to 50 degree weather. Bummer!!

Hope everyone is having a fun weekend! Thanks for stopping by! :)
