I'm heading out of town on Thursday to Ohio for a crafty retreat with some amazing ladies and I am so excited! But before I leave, I wanted to finally share some cards I created with all the different images I've colored, using Copic Markers, for the most recent online card class.
It was such a fun class and even though I've used Copics quite a bit in the past, I learned a lot from the awesome lessons and videos! Plus, it felt really good to get out those markers again and color.
I'll just share each card here, one after the other. The last one is for Day 13, the last day of class, which was a play day and titled, "Having Fun."
I still need to work on certain areas of shading, like shadows and skin. Practice makes perfect, right? And it's lots of fun to practice with Copics! My favorite day of class was when we were taught to color hair!
Most of the images on the cards were from downloads we received in class for practicing. For the last card, I used a new Simon Says Stamp set called, Cups and Succulents. I love this set - it's so fun to color! And there's a die set to go with it too.

Once again, life has gotten in the way of blogging. I am having a hard time trying to balance everything going on right now. What is it about the autumn season that keeps things so busy? Trust me though, I'll get through it and it's going to be much easier once I'm back home from a trip I'm taking soon. Thinking about all I need to do before I leave is the most stressful!
Anyway, I have a card and a tag to share with you today. They are both inspirations for the third Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge. I hope you'll come and join the fun because you could win a $50.00 gift card to their online store! Yup! That's $50.00!!!
The challenge this time is Trendy Tags. Just create a tag or add a tag to your card or project. That's it. The only rule is to make sure you use one of Simon's own brand of stamps, stencils or dies. For this card, I added a couple of tags from the Simon Says Stamp, Medium Tags die set. The flowers were cut out from their Tall Flowers die and colored with Copics. The sentiment is their Small Hello die. Still love water coloring! I used a cheap set that I've had forever for the background and splatters.
And here's my tag.
I had to take the photo this way so you could see the shimmer. I used DCWV Glitter Paper (love this stuff!) to cut the SSS Brilliant Gifts die. Then I just cut them apart and placed them in different areas of my tag - so fun!
Oh! And one more thing - ya know how Simon's Wednesday challenge on their blog has over 800 entries most of the time? (Not very good odds for winning, right?)
