Sympathy Card

We learned yesterday that one of our neighbors passed away on Monday. He was a husband and father of three. We don't know them very well. Just a nice, quiet family that pretty much stayed to themselves, but have always been kind and friendly to everyone. He was only 57 years old....so sad. We want them to know they are in our thoughts and prayers, so I made them this card.

The Silhouette Grass stamp always seems appropriate for a sympathy card. I stamped it with Peeled Paint Distress Ink and clear embossed. Then I used the resist technique again, with Tumbled Glass and Wild Honey. (Can't seem to stop using these two colors.)

After lots of rain lately, we have gorgeous sunshine with the temp in the low 80's in store for us today. It's what I call the perfect weather! Hope the sun is shining where you are too.

Thanks for visiting! I'm off to go play with the flowers. Always makes me feel better....

I think it's so great that you are making a sympathy card for them even if you don't know them very well. And so pretty! Loved that you embossed the grass! Lucky you with sunshine, here too but calling for rain and all weekend!

I love the way you used the dragonflies with the grass, and your background is amazing! I know it will mean so much to them because you took the time to make it.

This is a gorgeous sympathy card Barb! You're right - the Silhouette Grass is so fitting for the occasion. Very thoughtful of you to make this for your neighbor, we are the same sometimes, don't know our neighbors all that well, that is sad, isn't it? I've never even talked to my next door neighbor, you just never run into them it seems!

That's terrible news about your neighbour Barb, he was so young. Your sympathy card is gorgeous. Wonderful distressed background and love the combination of stamps. I'm sure the family will really appreciate it. Glad you're getting good weather Barb, it's a beautiful sunny day here today too!
