Scrapfest Card Swap

Happy Wednesday!

One of the neat things we did this past weekend at Scrapfest, was a card swap. We each made two cards and did a fun swap after dinner on Saturday night. I received two wonderful cards. One from my new buddy, Anne and the other from my friend and neighbor in Minnesota, Linda. Just click on each of their names to see their fun cards.


On the first card I made for the swap, I used the small leaf from the So Thankful clear set and stamped it on the card base. The large, main leaf is another one I made from an EK punch and a Starbucks coffee sleeve. I distressed it with Walnut Stain ink and added a pretty, sparkly flower to the center. The sentiment is from the Thinking of You clear set.




For my second card, I clear embossed the Raindrop Background onto a piece of kraft cardstock. Then I layered some fun paper from a Webster's Pages pack. The barrel of apples is from Imaginisce and I colored it with Copics. It's always been difficult for me to use patterned paper on cards. I just don't seem to have the knack for it. But when I finished this one, I liked the way it looked. Yay! The sentiment is from a chipboard sticker. I had to cut away a portion of it because it didn't go with the rest of the card.


Both these cards were fun to make. The apple one is my second try lately on using patterned paper on cards. I've decided It challenges me, so I plan on doing more in the future.
