November CCC

Hey everyone!

How did your week go? Mine was very busy with work, family and Thanksgiving. We celebrated at my brother Mike's house. It was our first holiday without my mom, which felt so strange. She loved holidays and adored having all of us together in one place. It was sad not to have her there, but I am so very fortunate and grateful to have such a close family, full of loving brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews!

So on to the CCC! I love this challenge that Deborah hosts every month! If you haven't participated in it yet, you really need to give it a try! All you have to do is make one card for the person above you on the list and mail it to them. Couldn't be easier! You will receive a card from the person signed up below you on the list and they come from all over the world! It's something I look forward to each month!

This is the card I made and sent to Hannah in Missouri.

I took a few plain, cream colored flowers, stamped them with text and music, distressed them with Antique Linen and Vintage photo distress inks and added some pearls. The panel they are placed on started out white and I inked it heavily with the same two inks, distressed the edges, then spritzed the Old Letter Writing stamp with Perfect Pearl water and stamped it onto the inked panel.

I hope everyone who celebrated had a nice Thanksgiving! Thank you for coming to see me today! I really appreciate each visit and comment!

Hope you're having a wonderful Saturday! :)

Barb I am so sorry to hear of how much you miss your Mom. I know that times like these must be tough! I remember when I was little and my sister who was almost 2 years younger had passed away, and I remember how sad I was and how it affected me as a child of 5. I will say that time does make it easier and the memories will always keep her alive and though it is sad to lose her, and I am sure you would have her back in the blink of an eye, she is somewhere much better. No more pain and suffering! And the best part is you will see her again someday! I remind myself that all the time when I think of my little sister. Just know that before I even read this post today, that I was thinking of you earlier in the week and knowing that this might be a tough Christmas. You are so very special and I am so glad to have met you in our group and hope that you don't mind me calling you friend. I feel bless to have made your acquaintence via internet! Thanks for all that you do in our group. Your support means so much to so many.

Your card is beautiful as always and I have never done the CCC challenge. I am gonna try after the new year. I so love all of your creations and I am inspired continually! Know that over Christmas you will be in my thoughts & prayers. Hugs.

This is such a beautiful card! I'm sure Hannah will love it! Love your stamped flowers!
I understand your loss. My father passed away 13 years ago, and although it gets easier every year that passes, some things will never be the same without him. So we continue to keep him alive by the many wonderful stories we share about him! My children, who have never met him, know how special and wonderful their grandfather was!

This is really gorgeous Barb. I just love the subtle earth tones and the stamped flowers! Very pretty. I know the holidays will be especially hard for you this year, but you have so many fond memories of your Mom and I hope they help to comfort you during this time. Sending big hugs.

Hi Barb! First holidays are the hardest, but I'm glad you had the love and support of family at Thanksgiving. I love your card to Hannah. Hoping to join Deborah's CCC one of these months--hoping I'll be paired with you!

All I can say is that the recipient was one lucky lady. The card is simple and interesting at the same time. You have captured the essence of the subtleness of earth tones wonderfully. I concur Barb, the CCC Challenge is fun, it was my first time last month and it was special, the delight is that you know that the card you make is going to a fellow CM. and then you receive one which is also made with love. I am looking forward to the next one.
Smiles:)

Beautiful card. Love the distressing and the beautiful warm colors. I feel for you about your mom. It will be tough during the holidays but be sure to tell lots of stories about her during the holidays to feel her presence.
