Flowers, flowers, and more flowers. . . . .

Hey everyone!

I have to say that working in the floral department of a grocery store, makes one very happy, once Valentine's Day is over. We had an unbelievable day, selling more this year than the last two and also beating the sales from 2005, which was the last time Valentine's Day fell on a Monday! Makes all the hard work worth it! I had lots of fun too, talking to all the men, helping them pick the perfect bouquet or roses. I love hearing who they're buying for, what their wives, moms, daughters or girlfriends like, their plans for the evening, etc... So many of them have been shopping there for as long as I've been working there, which makes it even more fun!

I promised I'd share some photos of the department, so let's get started. I don't want to make the post too long, so I'll just show you the pics with very little said.

Love these simple clay pots with the added sparkly hearts and flowers!

Lots of Tulips, Hyacinth, bulb gardens and mini rose plants.

This is an extra rack of bouquets that I use during a busy holiday.

Inside my cooler. This is the floor where I can usually walk to get to the racks up above.

Here are the racks, filled to the brim!

Star Gazer and Asiatic Lilies.

Lots and lots of gorgeous Tulips!

This is a fun arrangement. The purse is all pink and holds a beautiful mix. See my favorite flower in there? Love Peonies!

I thought these were so cute! A mix of pink and white daisies, all glittered up!

These are Calla Lilies in a 4-inch pot. . .they flew out the door! It's just such an elegant flower.

Here is a close-up. . .

. . .and in white

This is a Freesia. It's one of my favorite flowers. We can only get it into the store a few times a year. It is so beautiful! Have you ever smelled this flower? All I can say is, "Heavenly!"

Another Fressia in white. . .so pretty. They also come in yellow, pink and purple but the orange has the best smell!

Cute little guy, don't ya think?

Thanks for taking the time to look through all these photos! Hope you enjoyed them!

I'm off to work to fill my empty shelves and displays with new product coming in today. Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday! :)

Beautiful...you have a ton of inspiration there for your cards! I am sure you hear wonderful stories...both sad and inspiring. I'll never forget the first time I went to buy flowers for my dad's grave. I bought 6 roses and the woman at the counter asked why I was buying them. I shared with her why and she said, "Here..you take two dozen. He deserves a big bunch." I appreciated her so much.
