It's Been Awhile. . .

Wow, it sure has been awhile since I posted here on my blog! Just busy with life, I guess.

We've had some scary weather this past weekend. Tons of rain, storms and a tornado. My city was not in its path but not far from here, in North Minneapolis, there are thousands of trees down and hundreds of homes damaged. It gets a bit frightening when it hits so close to home!

With all the rain and not very warm temps, there is still not much blooming here yet. I haven't been able to plant any flowers or veggies yet either and am getting very anxious to do that! I did head outside the other day to take some pictures of my yard to share with you. Again, not much yet but I do ADORE my Crab Apple tree. . .gets prettier every year! Check it:

I love the way it looks against the beautiful blue sky!

For this shot, I just stuck my face right in there. . .smells heavenly!

I love the way the buds are pink before blooming into white!

I also get very excited every year for my Peonies to bloom! Look how tall they are already! As you can see, I haven't planted anything below it yet. Oh, look! I just noticed you can see me in the window reflection. . .hee, hee. :)

Here is my light pink one. . .ready to burst open. . .can't wait!

This one is a darker pink and smells amazing!

One more thing before I go. Here in Minnesota, the winters can be so long, so cold and so full of snow that when spring comes, with its warmer temps and sunny skies, I tend to really appreciate the little things. One of my favorite, little things is watching everything get green again and the way that green looks in contrast to the bright blue of the sky! Love these colors!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope your week is off to a great start! :)

Hello sweet Barb! I also love your new blog header!!!! Very dreamy.. for another 'stuck in winter' person!

I am so very sorry to hear about the tornado that hit your state.. Frightening...

My sister lives in Missouri.. and I FREAKED when I heard about the tornado that killed so many in Joplin (she is safe near St. Louis)... oh gosh.. breaks my heart for all these towns and people that are experiencing such loss!

And.. I also love Peonies! Mine are still in the 'red growth' stage! Trust me.. it is still winter! Right now???? 44 degrees... rainy... yuck...

OH! Gorgeous flowering crap apples!!

Take care!

Loving the new blog header, I want to be there! Thanks for the look at your garden. I saved a copy of your crab apple tree for future inspiration, it's so gorgeous and the color so crisp, love it! Enjoy it now that Spring has finally sprung in Minnesota. Stay safe too, tornadoes really freak me out; I experienced one as a child in Texas. My thoughts are for all who have been affected by this latest round of twisters.
bless you, sweet Barb!

Hi Barb, I loved looking at your garden. It looks nice & warm where you are. It's cooling down a lot here in the mornings & nights. The days are still lovely (but not for much longer). Your ATCs from the last post are just beautiful. I am also glad that you aren't affected by the Tornados that we've been seeing on our news. Take care xoxoxoxoxo

Your peonies are ahead of mine here in the mountains of NE Oregon! I agree with you about crab apple trees...they are so delightful this time of year. Actually, they're very pretty when loaded with fruit, too.
