Scramble For a Good Cause!

Happy Saturday everyone!

I participated in the 90-Minute Scramble today, over in the Hero Arts Flickr group. Janet hosted this fun scramble and she put a wonderful twist on it too! We were to make a thank you card or cards for a specific cause and send the cards to her, so she can pass them along. The cause is called Operation Marshmallow and supports our men and women in the military. Most of the cards go to our veterans. You can read all about it here.

I wanted to keep my thank you cards patriotic. The only stamp I have that has stars on it, is the Life of the Party Stars, cling stamp, from Hero Arts. So for my first card, I white embossed the stamp onto white paper and used Faded Jeans distress ink with the resist technique.

For my second card, I had an idea to use a large star shape but don't have a die cut or template for one. So I hand drew the star, cut it out and added the thank you sentiment several times. I used the resist technique again for the background, white embossing the thank you definition from the Hero Arts, Dictionary Greetings set.

I want to thank Janet for a fun scramble! I have had absolutely no mojo lately and it felt sooo good to make a couple of cards today! I'm hoping my creative juices continue to flow now!

You can check out all the cards that were created during the scramble here. And if you've never played in a scramble, you REALLY SHOULD!! They're held every other week in the Flickr group and it is so much fun!! Here is the schedule so you can check it out for next time!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a fab weekend! :)

Fabulous cause! I love how you didn't distress as much around the sentiment n the first one. It looks very dreamy!

Hey, she's baaaack! Got her mojo workin". Barb, I love these cards, especially the big star (you really hand drew that? Wow!). What a great idea to stamp all the "thank you"s on it - so original! And the design of #1 is cool, too. Great inking, how you left a "shine" in the middle! You are also amazing!

What do you mean no mojo? Looks like it's still there:-) Love the cards. The stars are definitely a great design element, need to use them more on my scrapbook pages and cards!
