Fun Background Technique

Happy Friday!

Do you know about the wonderful blog called The Classroom with Ellen Hutson? It's one of my favorites for learning techniques and tips. There are always fun ideas with tutorials, and my card today uses the color-bleed technique. Click on the link above and you'll see Julia Stainton sharing this technique.

I saw another Flickr friend, Teresa, use the same technique. You can see her gorgeous set of cards here.

Julia used small sqaures, colored with Copics for her beautiful card. I instead, decided to create some grass and a sky with my Copics, before adding the dots with the Copic blending solution. Here's how it turned out.

This is a fun way to make a unique and effective background. The card base was embossed with a new folder I picked up recently. The flowers are from the Hero Arts/Basic Grey, Indie Bloom collection, called, Butterflies and Wildflowers and the sentiment is also Hero Arts.

Thanks for your visit today! I'm heading to work, then have tomorrow off. I'm looking forward to another 90-minute scramble over in the Hero Arts Flickr pool! Arlene is hosting and you can read all about it here. If you've never played in a scramble, why don't you give it a try? It is so much fun!

Have a fun and happy weekend! :)
