A Glittery Tutorial

Hey there!

I'm not sure why I decided to do a tutorial on this glittery technique, but it was fun, so I hope you enjoy it!

Before I get to the steps in the process, I wanted to answer a couple of questions I had from my last post here. You can use any glitter for this technique. I used Martha Stewart glitter on one card and Ranger's Distress Stickles - Dry Glitter on the other. I really think any glitter would work, but the ultra fine stuff is the best.

The other question was about adhering my banner sentiment onto the glittery hill. You cannot use Glossy Accents because it just soaks into the glitter. Tape runners and glue dots don't work either. I used a Ranger product from Claudine Hellmuth called, Studio Multi-medium Matte. It's a thicker, white, glue-like substance but does not dry as fast as Glossy Accents, so make sure you hold down the piece you are gluing for a few minutes. And it dries clear, which is awesome! Okay, onto my tutorial! It's my very first, so please be kind!

I taped the Hero Arts Christmas Ornament die onto a double-sided tape-sheet and ran it through my Cuttlebug. 

Then you need to peel off the white backing to expose the stickiness.

Adhere the die-cut onto a piece of white cardstock and peel off the red backing to expose the other sticky side.

Sprinkle your glitter onto the die-cut and rub it in good with your finger.

Then take a bone folder (mine is pretty dirty!) :) and burnish the glitter so it sticks really well to the adhesive on the die-cut.

If you're using a light colored glitter, you can stamp directly onto the glittery ornament!

Then you need to die-cut the ornament again.

Isn't it pretty?!

Here's the card I created using the ornament die. The Tiny Flakes in the background is a Hero Arts stamp and so is the sentiment. 

I couldn't stop at just one, so I made another ornament using the same technique with red glitter. This time I used a white gel pen to draw the ornament shape and add white dots. It works great right on top of the glitter! That cute snowman paper is from Doodlebug Design. It's from their 6x6 paper pad called, North Pole and I can't stop using it - so darn cute!
