Die-Cutting

Hi There!

I've been trying to catch up with the assignments from the Clean and Simple Cardmaking 2 class.

They surprised us with a Bonus Day on Saturday, and it was all about using die-cutting with CAS cards. I remembered seeing this gorgeous card from Shari Carroll on the Hero Arts blog last Friday and wanted to CASE it the minute I saw it!

Here's my take.

Shari used a pattern on her card base with a white die-cut heart. I decided to do the opposite and leave my card base white and add a pattern to my heart.

I used a piece of watercolor paper, added soft colors by swiping a couple of different Distress Stains across it, then stamped over the colors with the Hero Arts, La Letter, in Vintage Photo Distress Ink, before die-cutting the heart. I added two smaller hearts, a tiny bow and some gems.

And since the theme of this card is love and I used a fun, different fold, I'm entering it into the Hero Arts February contest.

I've got today and tomorrow off from work and plan on catching up with class - still haven't looked at Day 6 yet.

Come on by early next week to see some photos of the floral department where I work - looks so pretty all set up for Valentine's Day! Hope everyone has a good week! :)

I love that die cut heart you made, so pretty and love that it's not patterned paper but that you created the look of it yourself. (I did not do the Bonus Day otherwise I would simply get behind and probably never catch up. If I have a chance before the course ends I might make something as I do have an idea, but I have to tackle Day 7 first!). Sending you hugs, B xxx

I was hoping you would let us see how pretty your floral department is looking for Valentines Day. I always enjoy your beautiful pictures.
The two little hearts along with the bow is the perfect touch for your card.
