Finally!!!

Hi there!

I'm really excited today to share my first Art Journaling page with you! I've been gathering supplies for quite awhile now and watching lots of different videos. My favorites, and most inspiring, are Shari and Vicky. Both of these talented ladies do some amazing Art Journaling!

For a long time, I could not get started. I wasn't sure where to begin. Then I realized the first page in my journal should be about that very thing. I think part of the problem getting started was wanting everything to be just right. But I needed to just let go and create. So here it is.

I used an embossing folder on some cardstock to create the textured background then I went to town with Distress Inks, misting, Gesso mixed with water, some Tim Holtz Tape and Hero Arts' Sketchbook Letters. I really love how it turned out and hope I'm able to come up with some more ideas for future pages!

Thanks for stopping by - I'm rushing out the door to work - glad to be doing that today - gloomy and rainy here.

Have a great week! :)

Hello Barb
Goodness, first a shabby and now a journalling page .....you are opening the door to a whole new way of approaching your Art, this is a good thing as you work on your journalling, one has to be prepared to get messy, not think to much on the finished design just to let go with whatever and feel the mood you are in, not easy and alien to the normal thought processes you usually have when designing, but like everything Barb, it will take practise, and there will be times when pages will be half done. Your first foray into this medium is wonderful and very pretty, it is going to be a joy to follow you along this path and see how it interprets into your card making.
You are going to learn some things about yourself.
Smiles:)
Sue

I believe when it's come to journaling - there is no right or wrong. I think in this area the process is more important then the result (although your result is amazing! Very arty!). I think it's more about expressing yourself trough creative process.
Great start!
