Just Sharing

Hi there!

I hope you're all enjoying the weekend! I have to head to work soon but wanted to share a couple of cards I recently made. They were both created for Summer Card Camp 2, using the color combo we were given during the last week of class.

I wasn't sure about the combination of dark brown, light brown, dark purple, light purple and pool but after playing around with it, I came up with a couple of cards I really like!

Here's the first one.

I used some die-cutting on this one - the butterfly is from Memory Box and the strip down the center was done with the Pinpoint Border die from Simon Says Stamp.

My second card uses the same color combo but we were to create a card in a style we don't use often. I'm not one to use a vintage or shabby chic style too often, so that's the direction I went with this one.

Lots of distressing here - so fun to do!

Thanks for the visit! :)

Love what you did with both of your cards, Barb - but for someone who says you do not do much vintage or shabby chic - I am thinking you need to do it more often - loving your results :)

I am really loving this color combo! The butterfly is gorgeous and your shabby card is so pretty- it may be different, but it still looks like "you" :) XX

Hello Barb,
What a wonderful surprise I had when I saw the shabby chic/vintage card that you had made, my heart skipped a beat, because I know that this would have been out of your comfort zone, but what a wonderful job you have done, I am so impressed, it oozes vintage. I do like your first card as well, especially the effect you have created with the pinpoint border, both cards are great.
Smiles :-)

Barb, gorgeous cards and wonderful use of that colour combination! I love your design and fabulous butterfly on the first card! Even though you don't usually go with a shabby/vintage style, it looks like you took to it like a duck to water - your second card is stunning!

Great use of such different colours together. Not a combination that I would use, but it is quite stunning together. Love both the cards but very impressed with your shabby chic card

Love the cards - great combo of colors and I love them both. The first card is so stylish and elegant while the 2nd card is a wonderful shabby chic vintage card that is so romantic.

Vintage, too? WHAT?! As I said before, I think you can do anything, any style, and medium...and you do it so WELL! I adore both cards, but I think the second made my jaw hit the table. WOW!

Both so different and so beautiful Barb! I love how your second shabby card turned out, it's perfect and not overly shabby (I'm also not that way inclined) . Those little flowers look so beautiful on the card!
