Crackled and Glittery

Hi there!

I hope your week has started off well! I've been feeling a bit out of sorts lately. I suppose with everything that has happened in the last week or so, and having hubby home everyday, has put a bit of a wrench in my normal schedule. It's been difficult trying to find enough time to comment on Flickr and your blogs, and even more so to create any cards. I miss it all so much, but at the same time I am so grateful Dietz is okay. ♥

Before he went to the hospital, I had been playing with the Hero Arts Palm Die. I love this die and had so much fun using a combination of products to create this pretty effect.

I first used some Distress Inks mixed with water on my craft sheet, dipping the palm die-cut into the mix, drying it, then dipping again.

Then I added a layer of Wendy Vecchi's Crackled Texture Paste and let that dry. The effect is awesome! I didn't want to stop there, so I added some Claudine Hellmuth Studio Multi-Medium Matte along with some Ranger Clear Rock Candy Dry Glitter. Here's a close-up:

So, my crackled, glittery die-cut sat on my desk for over a week before I finally added it to a card today. The sentiment is also Hero Arts - from their, Say it All clear set. The subtle striped paper is from a 6x6 pad called, Lost and Found from My Mind's Eye.

I'm entering this into the Hero Arts Birthday challenge - Rainbow of Color category and also into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge which is all about paste this week.

That's it from me today. I'm hoping to get back to a normal schedule soon, stopping by my favorite blogs and leaving you all some comments - I really do miss that!

Thanks so much for stopping by! ♥
