Freehand Watercoloring - EEK!

Hello!

I'm here once again, very late at night, but I wanted to share my cards from days 8 and 9 for the Watercolor For Card Makers class.

On day 8, Tasnim shared a video using a technique where you stamp an image with a soft ink color, then add your watercoloring. Here's my take:

It's a tiny card measuring only 2 3/4 by 3 1/2 inches. I am loving these smaller sized cards, especially when using watercoloring - it's a lot less intimidating! I used a pretty stamp from a set called Night and Day Flowers by Hero Arts.

The lesson on day 9 was scary at first! It was Freehand Watercoloring! No stamping involved. Just the paints, a brush and my own hand. I didn't think I could do it but Jennifer Rzasa showed a technique with water and splattering to create a colorful tree, and after watching her video I thought maybe I could do it after all.

This was my second try. I went a bit too far on my first one, not knowing (or wanting) to stop the splatters. :) I really like the way this turned out and it was so fun! I thought the sentiment from the Color and Sunshine set by Simon Says Stamp was perfect for my tree.

That's it for me. As always, thanks for coming by - I really appreciate it! Night. . . . ♥

PS thought of you last night...went through the floral department at work and there were lots of 50% flowers. Had to grab fresh ones for a luncheon I'm hosting tomorrow :)

Hello Barb,
Goodness me, your creations in this media; which is not the easiest are just wonderful, I know you feel insecure, it is hard not to as watercolour has a mind of it's own, especially when it wants to be controlled, but you have successfully conquered your fears and produced lovely images and free hand to boot, you have to be so proud of yourself. Well done Barb, the cards are beautiful.
Smiles:)

I haven't even had time to watch the videos for class yet this week but am looking forward to it when I see what you have made :)
