Hello!
If you're looking for my STAMPtember blog hop post, click here.
Before I share my card, I want to thank those of you who responded to the my last post and for your support and enthusiasm for the new Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenges! I really appreciate it! ♥
My card today was inspired by the amazing Dawn Woleslagle from WPlus9. She just released a couple of brand new stamp sets - Pretty Peonies and Pretty Little Peonies. She also shared a video in which she water colors these images and if you haven't seen it, make sure you do! It is definitely worth watching! She has an amazing talent that I admire so much!
Anyway, if you know me at all, you know I ADORE peonies! So of course I had to order one of the stamp sets. I couldn't wait though, to try Dawn's water color technique, so I used another one of her sets called Coming Up Roses.
Just as Dawn did, I applied a Worn Lipstick Distress Marker directly to the stamp. After stamping only the outline image of the rose, I used a small brush and water to move the ink around, blending where I thought I should and leaving some white areas too.
I did the same with the leaves and added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Friendship Messages. The card base was stamped with Diagonal Stripes from My Favorite Things, using VersaMark, then embossed using Judikins Iridescent Sparkle Powder.
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I am back to work on Monday after 9 days off and I don't mind telling you, I could easily stay home longer - I'm finding myself wanting to work less and less. . . .
Thank you for stopping by! ♥
