A Card and a Tag

Hi there!

Once again, life has gotten in the way of blogging. I am having a hard time trying to balance everything going on right now. What is it about the autumn season that keeps things so busy? Trust me though, I'll get through it and it's going to be much easier once I'm back home from a trip I'm taking soon. Thinking about all I need to do before I leave is the most stressful!

Anyway, I have a card and a tag to share with you today. They are both inspirations for the third Simon Says Stamp Flickr challenge. I hope you'll come and join the fun because you could win a $50.00 gift card to their online store! Yup! That's $50.00!!!

The challenge this time is Trendy Tags. Just create a tag or add a tag to your card or project. That's it. The only rule is to make sure you use one of Simon's own brand of stamps, stencils or dies. Then add your card to their Flickr group and tag it with SSSFlickrchallenge#3. So easy to do but if you need more info, you can find it here. You've got until Thursday, 9:00am EST, October 16, 2014 to play!

For this card, I added a couple of tags from the Simon Says Stamp, Medium Tags die set. The flowers were cut out from their Tall Flowers die and colored with Copics. The sentiment is their Small Hello die. Still love water coloring! I used a cheap set that I've had forever for the background and splatters.

And here's my tag.

I had to take the photo this way so you could see the shimmer. I used DCWV Glitter Paper (love this stuff!) to cut the SSS Brilliant Gifts die. Then I just cut them apart and placed them in different areas of my tag - so fun!

Oh! And one more thing - ya know how Simon's Wednesday challenge on their blog has over 800 entries most of the time? (Not very good odds for winning, right?) Well, their Flickr Challenge has A LOT less entries right now, so your odds of winning the $50.00 gift card are soooo much better! What are you waiting for? Get over there and check it out! I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by - hope everyone is having a wonderful week! ♥

Hello Barb,
It is comforting to know that someone other than myself is finding time is slipping too quickly for what is needed to be accomplished during the week.
I too have a trip coming up...perhaps this is the common factor in our stress levels being higher than normal!
Anyway your watercolour card is gorgeous, it has a certain freedom about it which is not often seen with a CAS creation. And what I can see of the Tag looks beautiful.
Smiles:)

Barb, I'm with you...the fall is so crazy busy, it is hard to find enough time to do it all! So glad you found time to make a tag card -- it is fabulous -- and so is that glittery gift card, too! I'm off to check out the SSS Flickr gallery now...thanks for the heads up!

Love the glitter tag and what a totally sweet card. Simple AND effective.

This looks such a great card for spring also. Consider it for the Die Cut Divas' challenge this month - Change of Seasons, Spring or Summer.

I really love how you created your background and splatters on your card, Barb! And, your flowers are so pretty! I also love all the shimmer on your Christmas packages and background on your tag! Two really great examples and perfect to inspire us to play along in the challenge! Count me in :)

I hope everything slows down a bit so you can prepare for your vacation! You certainly deserve a break before the busy holiday season!
