Day 1, Clean and Simple 4

Hey everyone!

Are you taking the newest online card class, Clean and Simple 4? Today was the first lesson and it was all about heat embossing. Julie Ebersole is one of the instructors this time and she shared a really cool technique, teaching us how to create a faux tile. I couldn't wait to try it!

I used a Spellbinders Shapeabilities die from a set called, Foliage. I was really happy and surprised at how it turned out!

It's hard to see in the photo above how much the focal panel looks like a real, ceramic tile, so here's a close-up.

I'm looking forward to day 2 tomorrow and I'm excited because I happen to have this whole week off from work - yay! That means more time to play and do homework from class - yay again!

And just a reminder we've got challenge #11 up and running in the Simon Says Stamp Flickr group. It's a Love/Hearts/Valentine's theme. You can check out all the guidelines and details of the challenge right here. There are two, $25.00 gift cards to the SSS store up for grabs! Hope to see you there!

Thanks for the visit! ♥

This is gorgeous, Barb! It does look like ceramic. I love seeing what everyone makes for homework. I am too busy with work to take the class at the moment but I know I will have given in and joined up by the end of the week :)

Great job on the faux tile!! I'm enjoying the class, too, but don't have the time to play with new techniques right now. This technique is a must try! Love your take on it!

Ummm WOW!! This looks amazing!! I love that you used a leaf for this!! I had a difficult time not cutting through the paper itself but did this challenge. I used a circle instead of a tile, though. I might go back and see what I can do...You have inspired me to try again!!
