My Least Favorite Month and Lots of Coloring on Dies.

Hi guys!

If you know me at all, you know I hate winter and the month of January is my least favorite! The cold temps, (I should say, below zero temps) the snow that needs to be shoveled, (daily it seems) the cloudy, gray days and lots less daylight, all come together in this one, icky month. Lol! I'm trying hard to get through it and I'm normally a very upbeat, positive person but I always find myself wishing January would go faster. ***SIGH***

Anyway, enough of my complaining! Every year, as soon as Christmas is over, I break out the floral stamps and dies and use as many springy/summery colors as I can, to bring warmth and sunshine into my life. (note the new blog header too) Today I've got a few cards to share which do just that!

This first card doesn't have any flowers but I adore that blue color! I just used a couple of Copic markers to add some depth to this gorgeous, Circle Leaves die from Simon Says Stamp.

An older stamp set that I love is this, Handwritten Floral Greetings set from Simon! Love coloring this flower with Copics! The, Believe die set is awesome! There is also a stamp set that coordinates with it beautifully!

Another die set colored but this time I used Zig Markers for a watercolor look. The die is from Simon and it's called, Elegant Roses. I used the inlaid diecutting technique.

More coloring on dies. It's really fun to do! Don't ya just love those blues and yellows together? I do! Again, I colored the die-cut pieces with Copic markers and used inlaid diecutting. That gorgeous, Heart of Flowers die is fabulous! And the die-cut sentiment? So perfect for lots of people in my life!

So, for those of you in colder climates, how are you getting through the cold, dreary months of winter? I would love to hear. And for those of you who happen to live where it's warm now, send me a bit of that warmth and include some sunshine too please! Lol!

Thanks for stopping by! Here's to a fast-paced January!

Hugs,
Barb ♥

Gorgeous cards to cheer you up in the winter. I might not need having a hot summer this year but I am lucky that my winter is not nearly as harsh. We don't get snow where I live. And no really cold temperatures. Won't be long till spring. Take care

Your cards are gorgeous and so is your blog header. I have no idea what it is like to live with snow. Here in south central Texas we haven't had much of a winter yet. A couple of days in the 30's and 40's, a bit of ice in the pond in the mornings. The last few in the mid to upper 70's. I haven't even been able to wear any of my sweaters yet! I guess no place is perfect, but if you can stay inside where it is warm and make your beautiful art to share with us that is something. Have a great and creative day.

Happy New Year Barb!! I love your new blog header, it just makes me smile!! And wow very pretty card you've created, thanks for sharing!! We have been having really weird weather too, rain and the freezing temperature. So the best way to cope with that is to stay indoor and make cards!! :D

Beautiful coloring on all your cards, Barb! I really love the roses--just may need those dies! Luckily we've missed the severe winter, but it's a totally different story for hubby's daughter who's just 90 miles north of us. Her poor Texan hubby has seen more snow & ice in 2 weeks than he wanted to see in a lifetime--haha! Just look at your beautiful springy cards & winter will be over before you know it!

Hi Barb, thanks for sharing so many of your beautiful creations! I also do not do well in grey weather, I need the sky to be blue permanently, cold is still ok, but I'm not sure if I would handle sub zero for a long period of time. We are having very warm weather here, but sadly no rain so we are in our worst drought in 100 years!

Hi, Sweet Barb! OH MY, all your flower cards are simply beautiful. Each one is so beautifully colored and designed. That first one sure caught my eye. The blue is striking.

SO sorry to hear about your cold winter temperatures and gray skies! Hang in there, sweet friend, January is almost over.

Sending you lots of BIG warm Texas HUGS! ♥♥♥

I am so sorry for my delayed visit, Barb! Your new header is so striking, and I love that you chose bright, fun colors to offset this dreary winter!

You have really become a Master with your Copic markers...WOW! Beautiful shading and delicious color combos on all of your cards! I also love how you colored the roses with your Zig markers, and how you added sparkle to the petals! Another gorgeous and inspiring post...Thank you!!!
