I'm back with another awesome release from Simon Says stamp!
It's their July release called, Friendly Frolic and they generously sent me some of the new products to play with. It's a really fun release with wonderful stamps, stencils and dies - so many new Picture Book dies - yay! I had a tough time trying to stop playing with everything, so I've got a bunch of cards to share with you.
I'm personally giving away a $25 gift card to Simon Says Stamp so check out how to enter below.
All products used are listed at the end of this post in the affiliate links, for your shopping convenience, at no extra cost to you.
For the first few cards, I used the Plantiful Puns stamp set, colored with Zig Markers. The images are so fun to color and the sentiments are adorable!
On this first card, I also used the new Diamond Pattern cling stamp, embossed with clear embossing powder for a tone on tone look on my background.
Here's another example using the Plantiful Puns set.
Isn't that sentiment cute?! That leaf stem stamp in the background also comes in the set.
I adore this terrarium stamp, also included in the set! I covered the entire image with Glossy Accents for a glass effect. I ended up with some small bubbles but I still love it.
Here's a close-up.
For the next card, I used the Leafy Frame die. I mixed a bit of Pine Needles and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks with water and painted the leaves.
I popped up the die cut panel with foam adhesive.
This next one is so simple and easy to do with any die, especially if you feel overwhelmed by how intricate it is. I just took some of the many pieces from the beautiful, Folk Dance die, colored them with Copic Markers and adhered them to the panel.
Then I decided to use the entire negative portion of the Folk Dance die for the next card.
I played with Distress Inks again for a watercolor look. Blues and purples are a favorite combo of mine and always work beautifully with any type of floral product! I put a bunch of small adhesive pieces on the back of the die cut panel and popped it up against the inky background.
I blended some Distress Inks onto a white panel, (no water this time) in a rainbow of colors, then popped up the die cut panel using the, Diamond Pattern Die. Love how it turned out!
The last card is my fave. This Folk Dance cling stamp is so pretty! I white embossed it and then played with lots of pastel watercolors to create the dreamy background.
I hope I've given you some inspiration for using some of the new, Friendly Frolic release products! I'd love to hear what you think about the release! Leave me a comment and I'll randomly choose one to win a $25 gift card, FROM ME, to the SSS store! I'll announce the winner here on my blog on August 2nd.
Thanks so much for stopping by! ♥

WOW, these are pretty, Barb! You've sold me on the Folk Dance die!
Gorgeous cards! I love them all, but my favorite is definitely the terrarium card using plantiful puns. Thank you so much for the chance to win a gift card, you're incredibly generous ❤️
These are all wonderful cards Barb! I can tell you had a fun time creating with this release. I sure do like the folk art stamp and die. Thanks for your inspiration.
Love all of your new creations, Barb ... especially that terrarium one! Beautiful! My favorite product from the new release is the Folk Dance Die. Seems like so many potential uses like what you showed using the pieces. So pretty! Thanks for sharing!!
Hi I love how you mixed the two distress colours together to make such a rustic colour on my favourite Happy Birthday card, might have to experiment a bit myself. Thank you for your amazing work.
Wow, Barb, these are so lovely, so much inspiration! This is another fantastic release by Simon, I always find something I love in every single release!!! I love loads of dies this time, including the new coordinating dies, but there are also a good few stamp sets that I will keep my eye on! Ahhhh to be able to have all the things! ;-) thanks for the chance to win!
Your cards are gorgeous! There are lots of fun things in this release but my favorites are the Leafy Frame and Folk Dance dies.
Wow you have been busy Barb, love all your cards. my favourite is the folk dance die , so pretty.
The folk art stamp and die is so beautiful and your cards using them are absolutely gorgeous! Love them.
Your fave is my fave, too! It's not my favorite product, but it is my favorite card that you posted! Definitely dreamy! I love the school bus set, Earth Has Music, and More Good Vibes.
This is a spectacular release -- something for everyone. I fell in love with the Leafy Frame die the moment I saw it. All your cards are beautiful.
You have really showcased this release beautifully, Barb! Every one of your cards are gorgeous!!!
Hi, Love all of your cards. I really like the one with the flower pot. Thanks for all of your inspiration. Phyllis
Lovely cards, especially like the "Keep Smiling' card!
Wow! I absolutely love each and everyone of these cards!!!! My favorite is definitely the last one with those watercolor pastels! They are all gorgeous love this release but was bummed the leafy frame Die is already out of stock was wishing to grab that one!! Thank you for sharing all these beautiful cards! You have such talent and are truly an inspiration to all!
All your cards are elegant!! It is hard to pick a favorite. The last one is great but I'm intrigued with what you did with the Folk Dance die and copic markers. Wow!
This release is awesome, there is something for everyone and every type of card, I love it! I had to chuckle when you said you ended up with some small bubbles in the glossy accent on your terrarium card (not intending to) because when I noticed the bubbles I was wondering how you got the "condensation bubbles" just perfect like they would be in a real terrarium LOL. Great job on all the cards!
Lots of inspiration with all of your wonderful cards! This is a fantastic release, I especially love the punny sentiments. You’ve made so many beautiful cards, it’s difficult to choose a favorite. Thanks for the chance at a great giveaway!
Love how you used all the products, especially the Fold Dance die! You didn't use my favs from the release though. I am eager to see the Sketch Lotus Flowers in use and while I already have the Ornate Background stamp, I'm very interested in the new coordinating dies!!! I think I'd use the Folk Dance background stamp more than the die too... but that is a tough choice! Especially since they have a stencil too!
I love this set and the way you used it. Many new ideas here. Thanks for the awesome chance to win. I never do, but it’s fun to anticipate winning one day.
Barb, your cards are wonderful - such a beautiful showcase of the new products. Outstanding use of the products and colors - and beautiful design. I am especially in love with the little school bus in the release. And I absolutely love seeing a little of my beloved MINNESOTA out the window.
