Scrapfest 2013

Hi there!

Warning: Photo-heavy post!

It's Scrapfest weekend here in Minnesota and today was such a fun day! It started out with meeting my friend, Jayne from the Hero Arts Flickr group. The minute we met, it felt like we'd been friends for a long time - she is so easy to talk to! Here we are, sitting in Tim Holtz's class. (sorry it's a bit blurry.)

Tim's class was AMAZING! It always is, but this year's project was so cool! We made a Holiday Merriment Canvas.

Here's my work area as we were just getting started. You can see the blank canvas over to the left.

And here's Tim as he explains our next step in the project. Blurry again, but the guy rarely stops moving!

Here is my completed canvas. It has so many fabulous details, colors and trinkets - just love it!

Tim gave away tons of goodies including a fun bag and apron. We also got to keep all the products we used to create the canvas.

And then he surprised us all and told us we would also be receiving a Christmas gift from him - a pack of FOUR more canvases! He is so generous! Can't wait to play with these!

Here's an adorable photo of Mario - I swear, this guy never stops smiling!

And then before leaving class, there were more photo opportunities.

After class, Jayne had another one to run to, so I met up with Linda and we got in the long line to do the Lawn Fawn Make-n-Take. We had done that one yesterday too, but they were doing a different card today.

And look who was at the booth! Yup - Kelly Marie herself, and sweet Britt too!

The two cards on the right below are from both Lawn Fawn Make-n-Takes, and the one on the left was created at the Doodlebug booth. It came with a matching envelope. My friend Nancy designed both the Lawn Fawn cards, and she was suppose to be here this weekend but couldn't make it. We sure did miss her!

Later in the afternoon the three of us headed up to the Hero Arts, Stretch Your Stamps Neon class. It was taught by a cute gal from Archiver's. We created two cards and a mini notecard, using some of the Stamp Your Story stamps, along with some Neon Inks and Daubers. So fun! Here are the cards.

And Hero Arts gave away some goodies too! I have so many of their stamps already so I was worried it would be something I already own, but I got lucky! I don't have either of these stamps, or the felt flowers - yay! :)

Okay, one last photo of the three of us. Me, Jayne and Linda.

It was a wonderful day - it's always great to see my good friend, Linda and it was really nice meeting Jayne - she is so sweet!

It was a very different year from 2012 when there were 13 of us who attended Scrapfest. Today, we talked about how much we were missing all of you who were here with us last year! Hope to see more of you in the coming years!

Sorry for the long post - just wanted to share it all. :)
