More Cards for Class - Day 3

Hello!

It sure is nice to have the same week off from work as an online card class! I have plenty of time to play with my homework and blog each day too - love that!

Today the lessons were all about optical illusions. Jennifer McGuire, Julie Ebersole and Laura Bassen each shared cards with videos and I loved them all! I've had time enough to play with a couple of Jennifer's masking techniques so far. I'm hoping to try Julie's and Laura's techniques soon too.

Both of my cards use a double masking technique. This first one gives a faux label look but it's all one layer.

I love the Dot Flower Pattern cling stamp from Hero Arts. I embossed it in white over my masks and colored with Distress Markers. The sentiment is from the Flower Friend set from SSS.

My second card uses the same technique but this time I just stamped around my masks using the Fresh Cut Florals set from WPlus9.

I created one more card using the same technique with a stencil and shading but it did NOT turn out the way I envisioned in my head, so I decided not to share it with ya.

There will be more examples of optical illusion cards in tomorrow's lesson, so I'm hoping to have a card or two to share again.

Thank you so much for continuing to stop by my blog - I'm so grateful for your visits and comments! ♥

Barb these are both so lovely. I am completely jealous of your circle one. I can't freely stamp a pattern with small stamps at all. It always looks bad.
